Total Renovation: Kitchen, Living Room, Dining Room

Finally, the construction is done. Below are just a few of the before, during and after pics from this crazy project. Here are the cliff notes:
- House was built in 1950.
- Moved the kitchen to the dining room, the dining room to the back room and the living room was expanded into the old kitchen.
- Almost 8 weeks start to finish.
Living Room Before:

1- You have no idea. I think I'll start a thread showing all the wallpapers I've uncovered there.
2- I'm on a plane and editing the sizes are taking forever. Calm down cha-chi.
3- Duh. He's just a baby.

This house seriously has wallpaper and paneling everywhere. I uncovered 5 different ones in the master closet before it was torn down. In the living room, I could literally peel back the decades.

PS - That 'brick' on the old kitchen walls is actually linoleum. I peeled it back and guess what I found? Wallpaper brick.

Living Room (current living room, plus expanded into the old kitchen space) During:
- Knocked down all walls between old kitchen and current living room.
- Added the back wall to seperate the kitchen/dining room areas and living room.
- New entry to this area was created.
- Custom bookshelf work began to the left of the new entry to kitchen/dining area.
- Skim coated the ceiling to get rid of texture.

Thanks, guys! It was definitely a lot of work but worth it.
I wanted a way to break up all of the cream but didn't want to do the black 'stealth jet' color all the way around so I opted for the hand painted black trees, which I still need to finish.

I'll post the final living room shots tomorrow after I finish hanging a few things.

Thanks, everyone!
One other thing I forgot to mention was that the bookshelf at the end of the island in the kitchen was supposed to be raised about 3" for added interest and also so anyone sitting across from it at the table wouldn't be able to see the messes I was making while cooking. However, the contractor forgot and by the time I noticed, the granite had already been cut. Oh well.

I like the clean lines of what you got better than what I imagine that would have looked like.

Oh for sure. They're driving me crazy right now. I hate clutter.
Still waiting for a few pieces of furniture too - end table, long console table for in front of the window and an oversized chair for the front corner.
