LOL, I knew there was no way that those pics were a finished job.

Looks great! Any plans to paint the railings and baseboards?

That's a challenging job.

Looks like you struggled a bit with the angle of the stairs and the transitions from stair to landing to keep spacing even between the chair rail, baseboard, and panels. How did you attach the trim to the wallboard? Is it glued?

DO IT, seriously the best thing I did for the home thus far, IMHO

Thanks! The chair rail and horizontal runs about 1 weekend, bought the moulding, cut, and paint on Friday, install on Saturday, fill on Saturday, fill, paint on Sunday...so like, the WHOLE weekend.

The 3 running up the steps? Another whole WEEKEND, much scrap, and a ton of profanity, and a case of beer.

Holy shit, it was. I did as best I could, this being my first time on a run like this. There were 3 different options I was toying with, this one being the best, IMHO. I'm sure a Union Carpenter would lynch me for doing it that way, but hey, gotta learn somehow

The run is 100% parallel to the run and spaced equidistant between the rail and base, which was the main point I was concerned with. With everything else going on, it's not a huge eyesore, and the details are there, so it's not too noticeable. I used finishing nails in to the studs only. There's other methods where people pre-make the boxes and glue them to the wall, I did this piece-by-piece as it allowed me to fine-tune adjustments on the fly for any variation in height between the base and rail.
