Sectionals
Need some new furniture, currently have a couch and loveseat that both recline. The room is big and has plenty of room for a big sectional. But we spent a decent chunk of change eight years ago on these couches and they're not holding up. So looking for some good options. Looked at some flexsteel, and they have all different kinds, some assembled in China to assembled in the USA. Prices vary wildly.
Anyone with any recent experiences with buying furniture? What kinds?

They don't make quality furnature anymore. We have a 2year old LazyBoy sofa that has both faded and started to come apart.
Good luck.

I got an "L" shaped leather sofa from Bova ( http://www.bovafurniture.com/item.php?item=1683 ) in chocolate brown and despite being shipped from China, it has lasted pretty well. No kids or dog in the house, so I would call it "medium" use. I have had it for about 4 years I think and while one area that I tend to sit in has a little less cushion now than when new, it has lasted very well. Leather is in good shape, wear is VERY minimal. If you are over 6 feet tall, it may not be the right sofa for you though as the seat depth is not giant.

The lower end flexsteel runs about $3500, if I want it all USA built (comes with lifetime warranty, though), we're talking north of $5500.
Current couches, I'm just not comfortable anymore. Leather is in good shape. But eight years of use, I guess that's the running rate these days.

My wife and I bought a brown leather sectional from Rooms To Go back in 2008. It's part of the Cindy Crawford collection. It looks as good as the day we brought it home. However, it's only the two of us with occasional guests / family and I condition the leather 3-4 times a year. I also don't allow our dogs on it.
We constantly get compliments on it...both the looks with the contrast stitching and the comfort.
Good luck with your search.
EDIT - found a pic online.

We got our section from Macy's as well and it's held up like a champ! I sit in the same place every night and after 2 years you can't tell that it's the primary sitting spot.

Take a road trip to North Carolina. I've bought bedroom furniture and a sectional from them. I found what I wanted in a local store then found the mfgr in NC and ordered directly from them. Saved a bundle. This was over 10 years ago and the sectional still looks great.

My wife and I just got a sectional set made by a Norwegian company called Ekornes. They are very ergonomic and well built. They are on the expensive side, but they are built to last.
