Where in MX is this? Are these finishes and designs pretty representative of what you find down there with all the open concrete and such?
|
This is awesome, can't wait to see more pics.
|
It's Morelia, the capital of Michoacán. It's about 700 miles south of Laredo, Tx.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morelia Most houses are poured concrete like this one. The first picture is where this house is, second the wide view, third the vacant lot. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...1bfe231e20.png https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...85e99fba03.png https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...8433e2f4d3.png |
That's awesome man. Looks like there's a Costco close by too so you're all set.
I was asking more about the interior finishes, it looks like almost everything is pour concrete with very little use of wood or plywood or whatever other natural materials. Is that common? Mexico is such a beautiful country outside of the shit parts at the border. I wish they could get their security/safety crap together so I (and many many others) could see more of it outside of the resort towns. |
There is no plywood anywhere I am aware of, the only wood is doors & doorframes (look at the shepherd & Bichon picture), the hardwood door is on a hardwood frame, the bathroom under construction had "saloon doors" I always hated,m you can see the mounts that were on.
The floors are all tile and the roof is also all noncombustible material. It is a very nice country outside those pesky cartels. Sams Club is even cloder lol |

Very cool. Love the bathroom renovation with so much natural light.
|
That's a cool house. I want to poop there.

https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/my350z....63f400bb61.jpg The glass at the back of this picture is over the sink in the main bathroom, the rest are allowing natural light throughout the house. The grating is over one of the patios, there are two more that are similar. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/my350z....a50644b963.jpg I also forgot there is a living room above the driveway with a parquet wood floor and a dining room with a hardwood floor, I'm looking for pictures. |
Very cool.
My wife's parent's have a place on the coast outside of Merida. Beautiful place indeed. One thing I noticed there (and every time I have been to Mexico) is that any construction takes a LONG time. What would take a week in America seems to take 2 months in Mexico. How are all your changes moving along? |
Very fast. That took about a week. All that is left is the glass for the shower and toilet doors.

Glass people are en route to install the doors, wife is very happy.
Also, we have a huge cistern in the garage that feeds a tank on the roof via a pump, damn motor died last week. That was another project. Guess that rent free deal the kids have is being paid by all this administration. lol |
|
Also, you can see the inside of the dome here:

Wow, interesting project. Never been to Mexico, but this looks great. Are you redoing the interior kitchen?
