I guess I don't understand your post. Are you saying that my tv looks good, but my home theater set up is cheap? Or were you saying that about the Sony Dream System?

Sounds like he is saying that the Sony Dream System is cheap (which it is).

Thanks for this thread. I'm in the market for some new entertainment furniture myself. Unfortunatly, I'm having a hell of a time finding what I need. I'm looking for something that will hold a 42" plasma or LCD and has five shelves (or four large ones). The catch is that I only have about 68" of wall space max.

Also, what do you guys think on enclosed racks versus open. I personally think that cooling really isn't that big of an issue for average low-to-mid range HT gear. Plus after a few years, the gear that theoretically needs the cooling is going to get a natural layer of dust built up on the heat sinks and other internal surfcaces anyways.

This is the best picture I have hosted

It consists of Emm labs CDSD and DCC2 - to an Audio Aero Capitole amplifier - to Vonschweikert DB99 mkII's. All cabling is Jena Labs(pathfinder interconnects and Valkyre speaker cables). I am not a big video guy but that big white thing between the pictures is a 100" Vutec screen(4:3) and at the time this picture was taken I was using a Exemplar modified Denon 2900 for video with a Sharp XV-S55U LCD front projector. Zu Megular Component Video cable from Exemplar to Denon, and a long ass toslink cable from the Exemplar to the DCC2 - no subs, no surrounds, just great two channel sound with a big screen.

I nearly forgot the isolation platforms, the CDSD is sitting on the funny looking wooden thing on the left that is a Machina Dynamica Nimbus and the DCC2 is sitting on that 3 level stand on the right, that is a Machina Dynamica Nirvana stand(the first one to be created) and the Audio Aero Capitole amplifier is sitting on the two level platform in the middle which is called a Machina Dynamica Promethean. All power cords are from Jena Tek - please don't ask me to rattle of model numbers because I may screw it up!

Damn Scrib you got yourself a tight fit. I'm gonna be picking up a 50" KDF this upcoming week if I finish the carpeting on the walls and the lighting. I should be good to go.

The simpler....the better, and since I live in a coach home...I don't really need a huge a sound system because my neighbors would hate me.

PS. The pic is from my point of view :P

Thumbs up

Damn, I'm late to this party. Snapped some pics of the new setup. The old TV was a Samsung 50" DLP (well, not old... about 3 months old actually, so I should probably say previous). That got moved to the bonus room for now in favor of this Sony 60" Grand Wega LCD.

Don't mind the tags on the entertainment center or the clutter around it. We're waiting for a piece so we can attach the rear panels... so the room isn't 100% setup yet.... and we wanted to leave the tags on until everything was all done.

Also have a Pioneer THX receiver, and Klipsh speakers (center, right, left) and Klipsh sub. PS2, Sony DVD player, and TW Cable HD-DVR. The speakers are hidden except for the center channel... but it sounds sweet.
