NJ Code - how many steps before I need a handrail
Guys (NJ) -
For a deck or patio - How many steps require a handrail? And how is that counted? I believe after 3 steps you need one here in NJ, but is that counted just up to the Landing and NOT count the next step as you cross through the doorway?

I Virgina it's more than 3. Try and give the local HD or Lowe's a call, their design team should be able to tell you.
