Thank you! It's real hardwood. I have nothing against laminate, in fact a lot of the new stuff looks just as nice as hardwood and is more durable, but since there was already a hardwood entry the contractor suggested matching it and I agreed. Resale value for hardwood is more so we should get most of what we put in back if not more. Since we don't have any dogs (two cats) we don't have to worry about the wear and tear from a pet, but the floors have a 15 year warranty anyway.

Yep, I'll have photos of that, too. He seems confident that a skim coat on the entire wall and a fresh coat of paint will make it look like it was never there. Keeping my fingers crossed.

^Depending on how deep those glue spots are, it shouldn't be a problem at all.

That would be great. Much better then having to rip the whole thing down and re-sheetrocking. Keep updating us!!

Came out awesome! Glad it didn't need a total rip out of all the sheetrock, etc.

Looking forward to more pics as you get the rest of the place in order...

I like that master bedroom! I think my favorite part is that the bathroom walls dont go all the way to the celing. Even though the walls still exist, they kind of give you a feeling of openness.

Update on the progress of our new-to-us house. We finally got our new 55" Vizio mounted above the fireplace where the huge mirror once resided. I need to pick up a new surrond sound to have installed and take down the hanging fan before it chops my head off. I'm going to replace it with a recessed light. A before and after to show the changes.

Thanks so much! The lamp is from Ikea. I really miss having one near us.

Bought and hung a new ceiling fan. No more worry about the fan hitting my head and this new one is a little more our style. We can now see the entire screen from the kitchen table which is nice.

We're still trying to figure out what to do with the front formal living room. Originally I was thinking pool table, but I've since decided it's not worth it taking up that much space. We're now considering getting a really comfy sleeper sofa so if we decide to have another child it can become a place for guests to stay away from a crying baby upstairs, but if we go that route we'd probably never use the room for anything else. Not sure what to do here yet. Right now it's just the junk collecting room lol.

Maybe...lol

BTW i like the changes you've made to the home. One thing that I've always thought about is why are most of the homes in the North 2/3 story? Just something I've always thought about.

Your deck is the entertaining spot for the summer btw. Great place to grill and turn the kiddos/pets aloose in the backyard.

It's been a while since I've updated my thread. I finally made a decision on what to do with our formal living room since we're just not formal people. Newly installed today.

Working dilligently all day is going to be hard with this new view from my office.

I tease, I tease.

I usually just ask myself before posting "What would Maker/Maj say?" and then post what I come up with...
