Probably why that one corner didn't fully expand... All the spider egg sacs that they laid we're adhering the foam cells together. No worries though, the mattress should pop to full size once they hatch.

Ha Ha:
Not Ha Ha:
"Amazed how small the package was and how quickly it expanded. I was a bit worried about some of the reviews regarding mold and not rising but mine seemed ok....Fast forward two days, the mattress fully inflated and my first thought was wow, this is comfortable so off to sleep we went. Around 3 AM my wife jumped out of bed screaming, thrashing wildly. In my daze, I asked her what was wrong, only to see a small bug crawl across my chest. I too then jumped out of bed to find my wife picking spiders, yes spiders, off her arms and legs; never again will I use a bed out of a box."

You'll have to ask the shipper that.
When I ordered the sweetnight mattress from Amazon, it came in a roughly 2' x 2' x 4' box. Pretty impressive considering the mattress' final size. Once you cut open the vacuum seal plastic, it started to expand. Luckily someone was at home to receive the package.

And the whole point of Ikea is that it's flatpack. The MALM comes in 2 boxes (maybe 3) with only one of them being the long side rails. It fit in the back of my 4runner with one of the back seats down. Might be sporty to wrangle it into a sedan, but SUV/CUV should be no problem.

Not having a frame or box spring is in no way going to diminish the lifespan of the mattress...
If you are trying to keep costs as low as possible, not having a frame or box spring can save you some cash with no real impact on your "quality of life"....

Anyone have any input on Leesa or Casper mattresses? Our queen size bed is no longer working for the two of us and a 65lb golden retriever that loves to spread out...and a wife that loves to do the same so it's time for a King.

Wife and I went to Denver Mattress a while back, as our old King was a hand me down. Apparently after much debate with her father, we determined the old king was over 35 years old. No wonder I slept like crap.
We went a tested out a bunch of different ones, Sleep Number, some sealy's, Tempurpedic...but couldn't justify the price at the time. We definitely didn't skimp out.
We ended up with a Madison Euro Top from Denver Mattress. We got the top of the line Adjustable Base to go along with it. Seriously has changed our life.
Quality of sleep is great, and we both sleep most nights in zero G, which Denver Mattress calls Rejuven8.

Glad you like the mattress, JDMJustin.
I remember going into a Denver Mattress store years ago and literally walking out on the sales guy mid sentence. It was worse than a used car sale pitch. Mainly, the pitch comprised various elements of "lie on this bed and I will push on your arm and show you how this bed is better than any other bed..." I think I was even laughing out loud as I walked away from the guy.

Bump, we're actually going to buy a mattress now. Any of those who have bought the mail order mattresses want to chime in on their experience so far?
Also, for the people who have tempurpedic mattresses, why did you get one instead of the mail order variety?

Still enjoying my Nectar mattress very much ! Actually just jumped on some Casper Supima sheets because they were running a sale and they are uber comfy. Nectar has the longest risk free trial (365 days) so it's worth to give it a shot to see if you like it.

Mail order wasnt really a thing when we bought our tempur in 2010...but I would not buy again. Havent loved in later years.

Noted. This seems to be a recurring thing that I'm hearing about their beds. I'm totally fine buying a $1k mattress every few years...really not ok doing the same thing with a $4k mattress.

I tried a Casper Sam and ultimately returned it because I sleep hot and the mattress we had made it excruciatingly worse. The Nectar fared better than its Casper counterpart at about half the price IIRC. Casper has a 100-day trial as well. The Tempur-Pedic is honestly overpriced for what it is.

We tried the Purple at the local furniture store, wife hated the jelly feeling of the top material so it was immediately out.
