It will end up being painted white but we can't get before we move in. Too much more things to do.

There really is nothing to the electric. We're not running any wires. All I need to do is swap the outlets. I've done it before with my condo.

The only thing I added was a cable hookup.

Congrats Ravi and the new back splash looks good.

Yeah I agree with white cabinets, dark counter tops, and maybe some nickel hardware for the cabinets as well.

We're not changing the counter tops any time soon. There are just too many other expenses that need to be taken care of first. There is a ton of garden stuff we need to buy. And we still need some furniture. Countertops will get done in a couple years. We'll paint the cabinets white down the road. For now we can live with it.

Thanks dude. I really appreciated the help.

We have decided to not do anything but veg tonight. We're beat. I'm running to the store for some supplies and a movie and then that's it.

The in-laws all left. Scott had a bunch of work to do and Steve figured it was early enough to get home.

Been tidying up and unpacking. Lots of work.

I mowed the lawn today. First time I have ever mowed a lawn....in my life. Tomorrow we're going to thin out the flower bed behind the house. We have a nice looking vine there but it is growing over some of the flowers. We also have to week the beds in the front and I need to go out and get a string cutter to trim the edges and the corners.

Fun times.

I love the new backsplash! I don't think the counter top is bad at all. Paint the cabinets white and call it good.

In time.

This morning we cleared out one of the flower beds. 4 large garbage bags of vines and brush.

We officially met our neighbors last night. We were taking a walk and our neighbor called us over for beers.

My wife was really happy. One of the things we were concerned with was how Elliott would get along with the kids. He had a great time. The other kids are all a year or 2 older. One is 2 years younger. But he had no problems fitting in.

That shouldn't be a problem unless they are in different schools because of grade level. Then maybe not an issue at at. Hope you have some good neighbors, the best one I have had here, have all moved to bigger homes..., sucks!

Push or riding mower?

I've always enjoyed mowing...made a lot of money as a kid doing it. Just me and my headphones

I mow our lawn with a push mower and my husband vacuums in the house. Works for us. Oh we have about 1/2 acre

Cool. I would use a push mower if a push mower was in the garage when we got the house. I'll mow again on Friday before we leave on vacation.

We've gotten some of the unpacking done.

So far I have the garage 75% done so we can get the cars in.

We have the basement 75% done so Elliott has a play area. The storage side of the basement needs a lot of work.

Bedrooms are 80% set up. We have to paint Elliott's peach room. Can you guess why? And we have to hang drapes. We also have to finish painting the walls in the hallway and I'm changing the ceiling fixture tonight. We got one of these....

I used the same ones in the downstairs hallway.

Got these for the powder room....

This one for over the breakfast table....

The family room is all painted.

The kitchen needs some finishing touches. We are leaving the cabinets for now. Eventually we'll paint them white and change the doors and hardware.

We need to unpack the living room. We're going to use it as a study though.

The trim painting is killing us. The paint the previous owners used is not helping. Even with primer we are having to put multiple coats of white. It is a PITA. I think we are going to leave a lot of it for later on when it gets cold outside.

OK....enough updates. I will get some pics up this weekend.

You see wrong.

That is a stand for a center channel. Eventually the 50 inch DLP in the family room will make it's way down to the basement and I'll replace it with a 42-46 inch LED. I also want to get a 37-40 incher for the master.

All in time guys. I have a lot more important things to spend $1200 on. Elliott will have to make do with the 22 inch TV down there for him to play the Wii.

I like the blue upstairs as well.

The wife is also changing the color of all the trim and baseboard. The problem is that the tan color they are now if being difficult. Not sure if it is the type of paint they used but it is a PITA to cover. We're having to put 2 coats of primer and then 2 coats of white to cover them.

Ahhh I see you like LED tv's too. And we don't have basements in FL. FL is a relatively flat place, including the rest of the gulf coast. A basement would more than likely flood.

Honestly, I think the before paint flowed a lot better with your cabinets/furniture. Not really diggin' the blue. Very nice house though!
