Jaguars Owner downsizes - HOME FOR SALE!

Thought you might enjoy this... Wayne Weaver and his wife have downsized to a riverfront penthouse that is closer to Alltel stadium, and is easier to manage.

Here is the house that he is selling:

I got $300k on it, if anyone else can come up with the $9,700,000.00

I got your back! The mention of beer taps made me realize I can't pass this up.

not bad. it looks huge from the outside, but not on the inside to me. i would expect that entire house to have cathedral ceilings. but then again for 10 mill

i dont know it seems high to me. they said they used the house for public events, so that means its probably marked up 30 percent for being a "celebrity"-type house. but i have no clue, maybe the land there is through the roof.

^^^^^^^

I was just going to say that.

Granted it's still a lot of money, but water front property and an estate like that??? Doesn't seem all that bad.

But shit... SIX fireplaces??? In Florida?

Housing is pretty decent here, plus there is no state tax on your income!

For example, my parents own a 3,800 sq ft home in Jacksonville. The home is a water front (doctors lake) and is a 5/4. In 1989 they paid $330k to build it, today the home is worth about $1.5M

I have a cousin that lives near NYC, and he said he couldn't get a studio apt for that.

The thing is over 16,300 square feet and has over 5,000 square feet of covered porches. That's technically over 21,000 square feet under roof. How much bigger do you think it should look/be?

And why would you expect the entire house to have cathedral ceilings? It's a 2-story home, can't have cathedrals everywhere. Plus cathedral ceilings are over-rated. As long as it has nice details and a few rooms with cathedrals, it will look nice. We were in an 11,000 square foot house this weekend and it had several rooms with two/three story ceilings with cathedral or coffered ceilings and it felt like a hotel, and not a house. Even the bedrooms upstairs had about 14=16 foot ceilings. Just doesn't feel right. Trust me, you don't want ceilings like that everywhere.

Damn, thats a nice house.

But for $10M, I would expect more than 4 acres. If I'm paying $10M, it better have at least 20 heavily wooded acres and have an automated driveway gate.

that panerma shot of the house near the beginning. It didn't look like there was an end to that place.

For that kind of money, no way I'm buying a resale. I'd custom build my own from the ground up.

It's 4 riverfront acres with something like 275 ft. of frontage (if I'm remembering correctly), its own dock and boat house. That costs a lot of money. There are homes here up in the Lake Norman area that are half the size, with maybe an acre lot, and much less waterfrontage and may or may not have a dock going for anywhere from $2 mil to $4 mil. I wouldn't even begin to fathom how much an estate like that would go for on the previously mentioned lake here.

While many people have their own ideas of what they would like for $10 million, that house, at that price, with that location is a pretty damn good deal at $10 million...

Yeah, I agree with you, I just didnt know if the size of the river was substantial or if it was just a creek. Plus that house has 1 or 2 additional guest/staff houses if I remember correctly.

Back home in Barrington il, $2-6 mil could get you a McMansion where you're on top of your neighbors, or you could get a stately home with 5+ acres and horse zoning.

I guess whats cool about real estate, is that there are so many options.

obviously you cant them ceilings everywhere. i just said it for the "effect", you know like to give you an idea???? set a tone (almost)

i dont know i just saw a beautiful home on 104 acres of woods, right on a river
28,000 sq/ft
10 bedroom
8 bath
4,000 sqft guest house
14 car garage with lift and beautiful cabinets shelves and built into the wall toolboxes
1/8 mile track with oval/road race track around it, it was around the perimeter of the 1/8 mile.
quad and dirt bike riding area for days
etc

8 million and taking offers

this is me ALL the way. you can keep those hollywood hills. if i can be back in Miami, then i wanna be living like this.

BTW, pretty funny. We were looking through the Home section of the paper and there was a lot on Lake Norman (which I mentioned above). It was about 1.25 acres and only had about 100 feet or so of frontage... $1.35 million just for the lot.
