drill/cut 2-3" hole in granite
i have a pocket desk in my kitchen. i had them run an outlet below the desk with plans to just cut a hole in the desk and put in a plastic desk grommet (those things you have on your desk that cords run through)....well i didn't know it was going to be a granite top.
well now i have to drill/cut a 2-3" hole through 3/8" of granite tile. anyone know how difficult this is going to be? any ideas?
thanks..

Creepy guy in the mirror.
I would pay a granite countertop installer to come out and do it...
To do it yourself you would need a special holesaw that is a holesaw coated in diamond grit abrasives. You would also need to do it wet -that is a constant supply of cool water running over the drilling area. It gets pretty messy. It is a slow process since applying pressure to the saw doesnt make it cut any faster - if you apply pressure you increase the risk of cracking the surface.
