DeWalt Cordless Hammer Drill: Plastic or Metal?

I purchased a DeWalt cordless combo kit and noticed that the hammer drill has a plastic lock behind the chuck. Is this new for their cordless powerdrill ine up? I know it's supposed to be self locking when the bit spins, but the plastic nature of it makes me think that the tool won't last as long and isn't as hardy as a metal piece (like my Ridgid). Anyone have any input on this? Should I be worried and take it back to the store to get one that is metal like the pic below?

The plastic should only be a handhold when you are keying the chuck or when you are going keyless.

Metal is always more durable, but it shouldn't make that big a difference in this case. If it is a straight swap then do it, additional $$ for the metal lock then not worth the $$ or effort.
