That being said, I don't want to cut corners because who knows how long we stay here.

I want to do the vinyl for install ease but as RS said, I'm not sure it's the best choice but damn, I want a main floor
We got our flooring through Costco, I'd hit them up and see what they can offer you. They'll typically contract through a local flooring shop to sell and install the flooring but the shops are higher end than what you can get from Home Depot or Menards. We paid ~$9/sqft installed for our higher end laminate. Pic of our flooring below along with obligatory Finn picture in his natural state.

I'm on board for LVP. Very easy to DIY install (similar click and lock floating system) with just some underlayment underneath. Just did an install for a friend and it's actually easier to cut than laminate. Rent a laminate cutter from HD and go to town! I still brought my table saw to rip down the end pieces but you can technically just score it with a knife and snap off. 100% waterproof so works for bathrooms as well.

We have LVP; so far so good with spills.

Agree with others on getting your doggy's nails trimmed.

Not sure why AZ notifications never come through for me but I was speaking with the wife and asked how long she thought "wood" tile was going to be in. My concern is that it's a fad and in 5 years, we aren't going to like it which led us to LVP again. If we don't like it in a few years, easy change. Pulling baseboards and going to pick up a Nucore brand from Floor and Decor today. It seems to get decent reviews, can go over our current tile and does not need an underlayment. I need to add a little self leveling concrete to where we pulled the cabinets, wall, and trenched for plumbing but by then, the floor will have acclimatized and I can get to laying it.

$9 a square foot is insane for laminate, no?

I installed NuCore from Floor and Decor for my friend! It was sweet because it was only $3 a sq ft and came with a cork underlayment pre-attached! We then didn't have to buy the more expensive underlayment but just the blue vapor barrier and all was gucci

That's the price delivered and installed and including the cost of underlayment, not just the flooring.

I thought so too but then took a piece of what we got to HD to compare with their samples and the quality difference was immediately apparent. The other thing you get when you go more expensive is more "patterns" on the show side so it looks more like real wood and you can't pick out repetitive pieces on the floor.

Jeep doing work, can't wait to get this vinyl down but I think you need to let it sit in the house for a few days. Ended up with a lighter gray and a dog Dremel for those nails.

Sadly, we bought the $3 a foot so no blow job

Plus, that advice is probably for places with seasons and extreme temps.
Not us that get a high of 95 and a low of 93 on any given day!

Yes, and you need to leave expansion gaps around the edges. It needs to acclimate to inside temps, not moisture like wood. I'd imagine you don't need days of time, probably hours to maybe one day.

arbitrary!
I bet it doesn't...
it's pliable and the space under the baseboard is standard practice...ain't nobody butting a floating floor up to the wall.

Yup, if you have space under the baseboard, otherwise you're pulling trim and nailing it back on later if you didn't break any.

The one time moisture and wood don't work well together; mind the gap!

Got this bitch painted, still need to touch up and should I paint the garage to match the door?

Before:

Trim removal:

During:

After:

Hate the mailbox but it looked better after paint and then much better after a new box:

Finally got curtains:

Glass guy was supposed to have this done in February but still nothing and now blaming Corona:

Finally got mirrors:

Old doors into bath:

New, still need the install the center piece and waiting on another door handle, plus I need to paint them and the trim (stained from the floor grout):

Put floors in and finished the backsplash. Not sure I like the "crown" molding on the island so it isn't all the way installed and not painted. The bar cart is supposed to go to my sister but she has yet to get it so it sits in our kitchen collecting junk, really need to remove the fan and get some proper downlights:

Waiting on a new bifold door, in the background. Can't decide on new barstools or an island drop down light. Cabinet trim looks crooked and I can't figure it out
