Finally! Getting a HTPC case for xmas, so the computer looks distracting, but it does work. Right now it's hooked up to the big screen, but I'm going to eventually hook it up to one of the smaller TVs too.

Well, looks like Hell has finally frozen over.
Looks good. I'd paint the center pillar and the base/kick board white, but that'd really just be a better aesthetic choice.

you have to do the kickplate at the bottom in white too or it doesn't work.

I'd also have put the two smaller tubes to the center so that all of the TVs are together instead of being separated by the DVD library.

I guess a downside to black is how much more the dust shows.. You got layers on there.. Should've taken pics sooner

I dub this project "Smell the Glove". It couldn't get any more black.

IMO all the shelving and trim should be white; then paint the back walls of the shelves an accent color (not black) something that compliments the wall color (maybe a dark blue in the same color palette) it'll brighten up the room a ton. Or even the dining room color to help tie the room in. That black is just not inviting/cold looking. Especially since it's flat black and the trim is glossy. It'll look better when your not watching TV, as it would be the center piece of the room; and you won't notice it when the lights are off and you're in movie mode.
I'd also consider adding the same trim pieces that are on each side to the that bottom piece that's just plain wood painted black. And some base shoe or quarter round to finish it off. Or some of the other trim ideas pictured in here are good too.
Nice work though!

You guys have to remember that I am 24 years old.. I won't be entertaining people, and if I do a keg & football/sports would be involved. The entertainment center is already the focal point of the room.

I knew this going in, but I moved into my house in July.. I should be here for at least 5 years, and the fireplace IMO was not going to be used. If I want my house heated I'm going to turn up the heat.
It also makes my house unique compared to the other houses on my street (4-5 diff. models on the whole street). Whether this is good or bad time will tell. Best bet is to find another young guy who loves football and I'll leave the TVs

It'll be an eye sore for most of the home buyers /w a family.
I don't mean to rain on your parade but lots of single guys buying homes just isn't going to be happening in this market for the next 5-10 years. But your right you can always get lucky and find another football lover...
When you sell if you have problems, paint it like I said and it'll please more people when they come walk your house. The rest of your house is well put together, waynes coating on the walls in the dining room, kitchen is well matched up; nice counters. Then you come to the all flat black "entertainment" center with glossy white trim; it sorta sticks out like a sore thumb from a design perspective.
Enjoy your football!

Ya, it's a bachelor pad; looks sorta like a college frat entertainment room to me.

IMO (and boy, you've gotten a lot in this thread ) is just that it looks kind of odd to have it surrounded in trim. I know you all know I wouldn't have done 3 tvs in the first place (we barely use one), but if anything, I think it would've looked better in an actual entertainment centre -- if everything was removed --- rather than keeping all of the fireplace trim + mantle of what it used to be. I think that way it would look more defined as an entertainment centre, and not like you converted a fireplace. ...It literally looks like you ripped out a fireplace and threw tvs in its place.... Some of what it used to be and some of what you want it to be.
Okay, enough opinions.

FWIW your opinion is probably the best suggestion, but like I said it's out of my hands!

Wow looks way better then I would have thought, too bad the 2 TV's dont have dark casing but nice work non the less.
Oh, is it just me or does it look like the molding (quarter round maybe) is missing on the side with the two tvs where it meets the hearth?
