Display room update..

Stephen stopped by for a bit earlier today. Was surprised when I walked around to the driveway and found his TL sitting there.

Finished the epoxy floor in the garage and have been loving it. Fixed the is300 and installed some o2 sensors in the TL. Bought some more plants and maples. Installed some more led puck lights in the kitchen. More updates to come!

Love the display room. The sky scrappers are sweet.

Does the bolded part mean you installed some or all of the needed O2 sensors in the TL? Do you still have check engine light?

Thanks Jason! Right now there are 3 new o2 sensors and no CEL, but the CEL should definitely be on because it is an idle problem.

For an update:

My buddy installed the new front door knob for me and wired up the ceiling fan in the living room. We bought a dewalt 12 inch meiter and did the kitchen cabinet trim. Looks really nice.

Also found a place in Virginia that sells Japanese maples for $65 flat rate which is super cheap and unheard of around here. So naturally we brought two of them home. The place is in Floyd VA if anyone is wondering and it's called Slaughters.

The zucchini plant is an absolute monster and we plucked the first 4 zucchinis off of it the other day and cooked them.

Probably some other stuff i'm forgetting about but that's about it.

Come on now. You know better than this. You used to mod you car and you knew that when you did something new you didn't post about it without pictures.

You do something new on the house and post about it but don't include pictures

haha I get lazy with photos sometimes.

Quite a few updates coming up. One of the pipes in the wall behind the mirror in the bathroom had a hole in it and water leaked out and down to the kitchen in the ceiling. The restoration guys have been running fans and hopefully it will be dry by tomorrow. The guest bathroom will be getting an update as a result of this. Also the kitchen will get some recessed led lights. I want to do everything myself but I might need some guidance with the wiring of the lights. I will be sure to take some photos.

So the problem was with this p pipe in the wall of the closet. It's the drain pipe from the hvac in the attic...there was a hole in it.

This light is really heavy.

The bank let us do our own work so that was awesome. They didn't release the money from the insurance company until the work was complete. Went out and bought some stuff. Found a vanity at Lowes for $80 that was originally over $300, and then used a 10% off coupon which brought it down to $72. Very happy about that. The pendant light we chose was at home depot and it there was only one at the time and we bought it for $90. Later on a few weeks later we looked up the same light on amazon and found two for $30 each so we immediately went back to home depot and returned the one we got there.

More stuff from lowes and home depot..

Slopped some leftover paint on it.

I think I started on the closet first. Mudding is not as easy as it looks on youtube, and that is for damn sure. lol

Then I laid down the new flooring in the bathroom. Fairly simple to do.

I have learned that I am definitely not good at being a plumber.

Decided to do something different where the trim meets the floor. Installed basecap instead of the shoe.

Here it is almost complete. Need to install the glass shelf. Did some crown molding. Mirror was from bed bath and beyond for very cheap.. on sale, then 20% off and also used a gift card.

Moved on to the kitchen once I did the closet and bathroom.

Was my first time wiring lights. Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

Moar crown molding.

Scott came down one weekend and helped with the basecap trim install.

Here is what the closet looks like now.

The build room as it was earlier today.

Went into Lowes one night for paint and came away with this new light.

The wife and myself on our wedding day back in 2014.

Used some of the cash money from the insurance company on a new chandelier. It has 92 LEDs and it looks like Christmas everyday now haha.

Photo of the cash money all laid out

Will install some nice trim on this entry soon.

So this vanity pictured here was one we had been eyeing for a while. We walked into the special Lowes where we found that awesome deal on the upstairs vanity and came upon a really mangled box in the vanity aisle. It was the one we had been wanting. It was kind of late on a Friday night and none of the employees wanted to be there(you could tell). We had to press the button to get the guy to come over to the section. There wasn't a reduced price on it so he told us to find the manager and talk to him about it. So we went to the front and got him and walked back to the box. Opened it up and saw where it was damaged. He was like... $50 bucks? In my head I was grinning and I said to ask the boss lady. Low and behold we got the vanity combo for $50 and it is supposed to be $400. The top is cracked and some areas of the wood is messed up but I don't care. Will fix it!

Excellent work man!

I've got to get busy with some projects over the winter...I feel lazy now. Lol. I've been looking around for a deal on a new vanity for awhile as well, something similar to the one you have all the money on. Thought most of the ones we've liked tend to have really shallow sinks.

Thank you! What are some projects you are thinking of doing? I wonder if there will be any good items on sale next weekend.

Update: Master bedroom installments.

Did some stuff to the bedroom.

Cut the carpet and threw it out the window in sections as I slid the furniture around the room.

That vinyl plank flooring is really easy to install. The barn door was on sale at Lowes and used some gift cars to help purchase it. The downstairs bathroom also got some love and will take some photos once I finish a few things.

Love the flooring! Do they have an adhesive backing or are they interlocked like laminate?

Wow man! Awesome work! Is the flooring the newer "luxury vinyl" planking?

Great work on the crown molding too btw!

Thank you Sir! The flooring is vinyl planks from home depot.

Looks like I have some updates to share. Just been lazy with taking photos this past year. Did some subway tiles in the kitchen, paint and trim in the laundry room, half bath 3/4 reno, new flooring and tiles threshold in the living room, hallway upstairs has a new look, and the spare bedroom looks much better now. Some other stuff outside. Someone tell me to take some photos and I will go do that lol. Oh and the LEGO city looks different.

On sunday we decided to change the living room so we bought some trim and paint. It's now navy blue on the top and white on the bottom. I will try to get a photo after I finish the trim.

Also I was curious to see what the bricks would look like painted so I spent some time in gimp... added some spires and a garage pergola. Gray trim with black gutters. I would like to do something with some standing seam copper.

I'm such a sucker for barn doors

Looking good!!! I don't think the GIMP coloring of the bricks is doing it justice because it looks bad to be honest, but I think when it's done, it'll look a lot better in person.
