I'm finally cleaning out my enclosed porch which I've used as a holding area for my junk. I think a nice area rug would be cool but I'm not sure what would work. I'll probably only want a chair or two into this porch when I'm finished. Here's a basic description: windows all around and plenty of sunshine, light pale blue linoleum tiles, crappy light grey linoleum wall panels. The room is approx. 12x7 but usable room is 8x7 because of the door.

So my first question is if I should spend any decent money on an area rug? Its not directly in the path of the entry but I could see dirt and moisture becoming as issue since its right by the doorway. If it makes sense to get one then:

1: what size? I think 4x6
2. what material? Wool or olefin? best choice for maintenance?
3. what color? dark or light?

I'm a single dude and I'm not really into decorating so I need some ideas. Thx!

Find a nice indoor/outdoor rug. And I'm not talking about the shitty astroturf green carpet. Talk to someone at a carpet store.

Nothing says 70's redneck then outdoor astroturf... I remember seeing a van with the exterior covered in the stuff back in the early 80's...

I've got a small door mat on the back patio that's made of of similar astroturf and it makes me smile when I wipe my feet sometimes...

Talk with your local carpet place... I grew up next door from carpet place and was friendly with the owners son... He used to make side money selling the remnants from big jobs/end of the roll etc.... and could could put on the edging too... Lot of people would come in on saturdays looking for small peices...
