Ibu-profane seems to be the biggest help.

Cardiac related CP can usually be related to movement. IF you sit still and the pain goes away, but then comes back when you start moving, it is more likely to be cardiac.

I think I have had this twice in my life. Chest pains for a month. Turns out it was muscles excerbated by stress and anxiety. You'll find as you get older and less stress out, you get that chest pain but it's not so....painful. Hope you feel better.

Glad to hear that you had yourself checked. When you are in pain, the body is telling you that something is wrong.
Some people are just too stubborn to see the doctor. My dad was having this stomach pain for years that he ignored. We just found out this month that he has apparently been nursing these kidney stones.

It's pretty simple. If you that concerned ask your doctor for a CT scan of your chest checking for a pulminary embolism... that'll elminitate your heart concerns.
Im failrly sure it's indigestion or anxiety casuing your problems, something besides your heart anyway. I had the same thing happen to me a few months back. It scared the hell out of me. My father died when he was 29 because of a blood disorder. So if you think your paranoid, lol....
it turned out to be stress another sign of the crappy place I work... funny that's two of us now who had the same problem in this thread. And we both work for the same place...

Guys, this is a timely reminder to take chest pains seriously. Call 911 if you suspect something is wrong.
It's a very "Guy Thing" to tough it out or not want to be embarassed by the whole thing.
I brought all the EMTs for my house a month ago... for no good reason, it turns out. But my wife is reassured that I wasn't too afraid of looking foolish if it meant possibly averting a disaster!
We're all in this together, I'm pullin' for you.

Damn Eric!
With the exception of the guy who is yakking up the cheeseballs from his tonsils, it seems that between you, me, and your Dad, we get all of the medical maladies for the whole AZ board!
I hope you feel better, and soon. Speaking about your Dad, how is he doing, anyway? I meant to PM you about his condition, but when I saw this thread (and if you couple that up with the fact that I am a lazy ass), I figured it was a good time to ask.
I'm not a doctor, so I will hazzard no guesses as to what is going on with you. Only my best wishes for you and your Dad.
As for the rest of you, there has been some very good advice in this thread about guarding your health. Usually, I have very little need for doctors, or, you can read that as I try to put plenty of distance between them and me. I'm the kind that will try to gut everything out instead of seeing a doctor for this and that. I never could understand peoples' motivation to see a doctor, for say, the flu. The flu is caused by a virus, and the docs can't do jack about that. You just need to let it run it's course.
However, regarding strange maladys (other than run of the mill stuff, the colds and the flus), get yourself checked out immediately. I'm going to borrow a saying from the old days when I was able to fly and teach in small aircraft:
"If you think you are in trouble, you already are". Get it looked at.
For once, I took my own advice back in mid november, and had an abnormal condition checked out. Turns out, it is cancer, and I am being treated for it right now.
The treatments are no fun, believe me, but it beats the alternative of doing nothing, which would have pretty much guaranteed having one foot in the grave about now.
I know; it seems that today a visit to the doctor seems to be a $100 minimum proposal even if the visit lasts two minutes or so. Don't be penny-wise and pound-foolish. Get yourself checked out at the first sign of any unexplained abnormality. Trust me on this one.

Do you drink alot of soda or caffeinated drinks? That will give you some sharp chest pains that comes and goes. Also when you get these chest pains, does it hurt to breathe or move into a different position?
