Working Out / Sick

I picked up a little head cold at the beach this weekend. My throat hurts and I feel a little weak. I want to do some cardio today because I ate like a pig this weekend. Is it better that I don't excercise today?

You can do whatever your body will let you. If you have the energy, then do it. But don't go very hard, otherwise you risk doing more harm than good.

And for god sakes, stay out of the gym!

When I was sick with some sort of sinus cold, ABreece told me to stay out of the gym. So I did, got some decent rest, and got better pretty quick.

I opted not to go to the gym at lunch, too weak. I will see how I feel tonight and maybe take a light jog.

I've always been told that if you are sick, do not workout. Something about letting your body work on getting better first.

Stay home and just rest. You aren't doing yourself any good if you exercise when sick.

In addition, i doubt even 2 or 3 hours of cardio will do much to "fix" what you did on the weekend.

Pop some vitamin C and get to bed early.

Luckily enough, I only gained a pound. Maybe I will take a nice walk with my son.

I gain 5-10lbs some weekends and always even out a few days later. Your body weight fluctuates on a daily basis, dont' worry about it. You didn't put on a pound of fat in two days.

The walk sounds l ike a good idea.

The smart choice is rest. And make sure your nutrition is...of quality while doing so.

Remember: Rest is as important as stimulation.

Must be going around...I've got something similar. Cardio is hurting like a bitch on the throat area.

Best to let your body heal itself first. Then, return to testing its limits of pysicallity.
