scoop of 100% whey protein
some chocolate syrup

it comes out to be like 800 or 900 calories
Take out the low fat vanillia ice cream, use 2 or 3 scoops of vanilla protein instead, no chocolate syrup; use a couple of shakes of ground cinnamon instead, water, fruits. It will be slightly less calories. But...you'll still most likley put on weight, but you are cutting out most of the unnatural sugars and that will help you not put on the wrong type of weight.

I'm probably going to start taking protein powder again - I'm considerably cutting down on the amount of meat I eat (1x week, and only chicken or duck). I was a vegetarian for about 6 years and had a good power, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called.

Any suggestions? I do remember that I liked the vanilla flavor better than chocolate.

I just got some ON Nitro Core 24 - Cookies and Cream

It's awesome, if it was frozen I would think it was cookies and cream ice cream.

Alright, so I need some input from you guys -

I generally workout for bulk/size in the fall and winter, and then try to lean-up in the spring and summer.
I bulked up nicely this winter, using only 50g of protein as a supplement.
I'm currently 5'10, 205 lbs., about 16%-18% bf - looking to get down to 185.
The main focus of my new workout is to lean up and it is coming along nicely losing 7 lbs. last month and my definition is coming along very nicely, but the 90 to 120 minute 6 days/wk workouts are making it so I can barely get up the stairs to go to bed.

So, I'm going to start making post-workout shakes (ffYogurt, berries, milk, OJ) with Isopure ZeroCarb Protein (50g) Glutamine (how much?) and a small amount of Creatine (again, how much?) to fight off the soreness. Good? Bad? Ugly?

Please keep in mind - *I ONLY HAVE ONE KIDNEY* - so I CANNOT take anything that could possibly damage that organ. I'm not taking any chances here...
Is the Glutamine or Creatine too risky?

Thanks for your input.

I was getting all excited to give you an answer until I read about the Kidney. I don't know enough to give that kind of advice. I recommend a Dr.

I second that. You can probably take some stuff but for you moderation is not even the word I should use. You have to be very careful. Kudos to you regardless.

While water is essential in everyday interactions, you do not want to take any supplements that condone more consumptions of water. In my opinion, I wouldnt get involved in any creatine that would cause you to fire up your kidney and work harder then it should.

I'm not a Dr. though but it sounds like it makes sense. LOL

haha, thanks guys...
Let's say I had two fully functioning kidneys - THEN what your answer be? (I'm obviously not holding you liable here...)

BTW - I have talked to my team of Dr's, but I always get the same answer - "I'm telling you to stay away from that stuff because I HAVE to tell you that, not because I necessarily agree with it..."
So, the Dr's aren't really being all that helpful.

I've also been told to be careful about my kidneys, but recently talked about it again with my doc. He said he's not worried about me taking creatine as long as I'm getting enough water throughout the day. So as long as your water consumption remains high I would take 5 grams a day.

In regards to recovery, after much experimenting a TON I recommend Surge! by Biotest. http://www.t-nation.com/productInfo.do?id=459244
The stuff is truly amazing and produces noticeable differences. I workout and play soccer 6 days a week and use it after every workout or game, and I can definitely tell the difference when I don't take it.

I was doing an EC stack for about 10 weeks in addition to whey protein, EFA's, multivitamins, and flaxseed. Lost 12lbs in a that time period while retaining muscle (i hope).

Anybody else have good results with that?
I know many people are really strong, or really against it.

I'm not a big believer in supplements. For workouts I only take beef liver pills and a multi-vitamin and it's worked great for me.

However, the Nitrix is great when you want to temporarily look better. Certain times like at the pool in Rehab in Vegas I'll take a ton of Nitrix ahead of time and it really increases the vascularity and pumped look. Not sure that it really does much for the workouts.

Hi guys,

New to this section of Azine. Anyways, anyone here try Black Powder or Amplify02 yet? I was thinking about trying one of them as they both fall into the NO2 type of product. However the Black Powder is more of a GNC available product where the Amplify is a bit harder to get a hold of (but still legal).

what should i be taking?

ive been lifting 4-5times during the week for 3 months straight now and havent been taking anything post workout.

i know my diet is crappy but im starting to work on that with better foods and make sure i dont eat too much. and i am going to start keeping track of how many calories im taking in and burning off.

also what can i take for my joints i guess? cause i noticed that my knees are starting to give me issues after ive been doing leg presses and squats and standing alot at work.

i also need to drink alot more water, i definitely dont get enough.

i was thinking for now to keep it simple with
-whey protein after workout
-multi vitamin
-something for joints?
-
-

i can tell since i started that i have more muscle but they are covered by fat
so my goal for now is to lose fat, then build muscle

^ I bet if you ate a balanced meal, much smaller portions more frequently throughout the day, was sure to eat a protein after workouts, kept yourself hydrated (often you're thirsty and not hungry), and continued pushing yourself hard with cardio + weight training, you would see great results without a single supplement, powder, "booster" or chemicals.

It sounds like you've made great gains, just keep the exercise up with increased cardio and changes to your diet. Seriously. I had AMAZING gains without anything but good food choices and regular, hard exercise. If anything, a few quality vitamins to make sure you're getting everything you need would help keep you healthy.

Just my opinion though. I don't see the need to spend all of the extra money on anything....your body can do it on its own.

for sure. i dont take any powder or pills or anything. i personally would have a nice big glass of chocolate milk after each session. and then eat some food. let it be nuts, rice and meat, or fruit. ive also seen a lot of gains with just a normal diet.

and also, to lose fat, you have to have some cardio. you need it to burn it off. i say 2 miles or so a day (or work up to it if you cant get there yet) and you'll be burning it off.
