Six Pack Genetics

Six Pack Genetics
So do you guys think that tight abs/six packs are definitely due to genetics? So here's my routine and problem: Weights 4 days, cardio 4 days, usually mixed up..try and eat right, but everyone knows that some days you overeat/undereat. I've heard and tried that doing crunches everyday isn't that helpful in ratio to if you do it like 3/4 times a week. Problem: I can't get tight/firmed abs for nothing! I do the cardio then crunches (def different sets)...the gut is trimmed down, but I can't get the shape that I want. I've noticed that my line of family hasn't been in that great shape..nothing worth mentioning. Think it's possible genetically speaking that this won't happen for me?

its all in what you eat, you need to burn the little fat there is on your belly, you can only do that by eating right, and i mean right, it is hard, cardio helps a little do burn calories, try and burn more than what you take in

Just about everyone is capable of getting abs with the right amount of work. Some people are naturally lean so it's easier for them (or they have well-defined abs without any work at all), but the only people i know of who can't have abs at all had some sort of surgery that did it.
Get your diet in check and drop your bodyfat some more. The stomach is typically the last place you lose it.

Like Breece said, anyone *can* get a 6 pack, but of course some are going to have good genetics that either allow them to be leaner and/or to add more muscle mass. But that can be said about most any muscle group - I lost in the calf muscle gene dept, but I have a prety big rib cage that allows me to have a bigger torso appearance.
Work esp hard on diet and exercises that are geared toward losing body fat, i.e. more cardio and higher intensity lifting.

man, I've got about 1 inch of fat around my midsection that I need to get rid of. There are developed ab muscles underneath, I just need to get them to show. Eating 'right' is so friggin hard. :imafatass:

I hate my fucking mid section. I have abs of steel, I mean... I have been doing sit ups for years and I could probably take a hit from Mike Tyson, but there is all this extra thick layer of fat on top of it and around it, that I can't get rid of... I know, I know "watch what I eat... :blah: :blah:". I would do lipo if it was cheap and didn't hurt like a mofo....

It's not just about percentage of fat, it's also about how big those ab muscles are. Just remember that ab muscles react that same way any other skeletal muscle does with regard to growth or lack thereof.
