Lunar New Year and SB festivities have made me balloon up to 155 this morning, normally 150. Gonna sweat my ass off at the gym tomorrow... chose a salmon + rice plate for lunch instead of fast food, so that's a start I guess

Sorry I didn't see this before. I had been running four times a week for an hour each time, I have no clue about distance. I've started running every day now, only for 30 minutes though but it has helped me cut back on my smoking big time.

I had been at a pack a day, now its a pack a week and hopefully soon no smoking at all.

Alright and weigh in at....... 260 arhhhh 3 weeks in a row
Worked out 6 days last week about 1 1/2 - 2 hours each day
Time for a change either I don't have the Sunday cheat day because that might be setting me back, or I do less cardio and say at the gym on cardio days for 1 hour in stead of 1 1/2 and on weight days every other day I do 30 min cardio and an hour of weights instead my usual doing 1 hour weights and 1 hour cardio on weight days

I mean
Somethings gotta change because I'm literally getting aggravated here

On the diet side I do 6 days diet and one day cheat which is sundays
Try to stay at 1500 cal per day tops

Might change it up to 1000 cal a day like I did before when I lost 100 lbs I mean it's not healthy but it worked

Yea - you may want to remove your cheat day, or just tone down the amount of cheating.

Another thing, if you're trying to weight loss, you should change to a higher protein diet, and less carbs (very little to none per day). If you're still eating carbs and working out, your body is burning off those carbs you ate, instead of the excess fat.

I've started the p90x routine and am following the nutrition plan as close as I can, and the first 4-8 weeks are a "fat burn" stage, where you eat very little carbs, but high protein with veggies with one carb per day (like one slice of bread is "one carb").

I'm actually cutting out all sugar and alcohol from my diet as well, which I will imagine to have a huge effect on my total weight loss.

I can't believe that if you're working out 6 days a week that you wouldn't see progress, but your calorie intake may be too low. 1,500 calories for a 260 lb guy is pretty low. Or you're eating too many carbs. Your body is going to burn 2,600 calories a day doing nothing (resting rate). You may find that increasing your calorie intake will allow you to work out harder and thus lose more weight.

I also noticed that you went to Hibachi on Sunday and weighed on monday. That stuff usually has a pretty high salt content, so if you're drinking water, a lot of that weight could be just retained water from the salt. Just something else to think about.

Your diet makes no sense, and I honestly think you need to ADD calories if you want to lose weight. When I was 180-190 I was eating 2000+ calories a day and still dropped to 165. When you don't eat enough your body goes into starvation mode and stores what you eat as fat.

Try 2000 calories a day and see what your results are. What is your diet like during the day? You should get some casein protein and drink that before bed. You should be getting about 1 gram of protein per pound of weight a day as part of your diet. I would bump that up to 25g after your workout if you follow that with dinner 2 hours later.

I would say at a minimum of 2000. What kind of foods are you eating thru the day? Maybe list out an average day of food.

+1 on the protein. You should definitely try to swap some of your carb calories with protein calories, that should help quite a bit.

my daily diet is mostly morning plain oatmeal with water, then 10 o'clock i have an apple, lunch i sometimes have subway, and then 3 i have another fruit or yogurt, and dinner ill have the other 6 inch left from subway, which is really hard no i usually eat the whole footlong for lunch because if i eat the 6inch then i see the other half and im still hungry so most of the time i end up eating it, thats my biggest problem.

usually i eat dinner around 6 and then before i go to sleep im usually snacking right before bed.

today for example really bad day,
i had an small apple about 100 cal maxaround 8am then i went to gym did 30 min of cardio and hour of weights followed by a 25g muscle milk protein shake 220 cal and thats all i ate so far today, havent had time to eat lunch yet been busy remodeling my condo, so here i am and usually dont cook at home so do i end up going to subway or?? maybe ill go to super walmart and buy some veggies.

quick question is the healthy choice frozen little 220 cal mini meals bad? or like lean cuisine? or any other frozen low fat meals any good to eat while dieting?

Also i dont see drinking a protein shake before bed especially if i didnt work out, i usually work out in the morning, maybe ill stick with the glass of grapfruit juice

so ill stick with 2000 cal per day i just have to figure out what i can add up for the whole day of food equaling that amount of calories,

add snacks in between meals.
I saw that you're eating fruit for a snack, but they have carbs and sugars.
try nuts, raisins, cranrasins...little things like these that have Protein

You're not eating enough.. This was my diet when I was 180-190 before I dropped to 165.

Breakfast: Scoop of protein + 8oz milk = 220 calories @ 7am
Breakfast #2: Bowl of oatmeal = 160 calories @ 9am
Lunch: Big salad with a can of tuna @ 12pm = roughly 600 calories @ 12pm
Snack #1: Almonds + apple/orange = 300 calories @ 3pm

Did about 30 minutes of running and lifted weights each day around 5pm

Dinner: Salmon/chicken + bag of frozen steamed veggies = 600 calories @ 7pm
Snack #2: Scoop of protein + 8oz milk = 220 calories @ 9pm

Those are rough calorie numbers but it was around 2100. You weigh more than I did so you need to be eating at least 2000 calories if not at least 500 more.

you need about 1 gram of protein per pound DAILY.
so if you weigh 200lbs, you need 200 grams of protein everyday.

you showed us what you ate, and you're not getting enough protein.
I would add more meats to your diet.
try adding tuna fish, nuts, oatmeal, chicken, fish, pork, etc.

As I sit here and read while I'm eating my almonds for my 4:00 snack, I'm thinking I may not be getting enough protein.....

I've been stuck at the same weight for the past 3 weeks. Weekends kill me. I usually lose 3-5lb during the week and gain it back by Monday morning....water weight I'm sure, but still irritating.

I'm on the same boat and since I'm 260 I have to have 260g of protein daily that seems way too much and especially trying to keep under 2000 cal

I always use Optimum Nutrition Double Rich Chocolate for my whey protein.. tastes like chocolate milk. Vanilla is also good. I did not like the extreme milk chocolate as it was too sweet. DRC is the best flavor they have.

For casein protein I did the Optimum Nutrition Vanilla before bed. Casein protein is slower acting and helps while you sleep.

You need to drink a protein shake after your workout in the morning, and have another whey or casein shake at night unless you are eating late (7-8pm). It will add some good cals and protein which is what your diet is missing. Each scoop is 25g protein and 120 calories. You can mix with water or fat free milk (80 more cals/8oz).

You are not eating enough. The subway sandwich for lunch is not bad for you.. eat the entire foot long for lunch. Watch what is in each sandwich, and drink a lot of water with it. For dinner eat steak/fish/pork/chicken + big bowl of veggies instead of the 6inch sub.

good to see this thread active!... went cold for a while. Seemed all the new year resolution people died out. LOL

Well hovering at 180... but I'm OK with it. My body looks better & my clothes feel looser. May be the muscle?

It will add some good cals and protein which is what your diet is missing. Each scoop is 25g protein and 120 calories. You can mix with water or fat free milk (80 more cals/8oz).

You are not eating enough. The subway sandwich for lunch is not bad for you.. eat the entire foot long for lunch. Watch what is in each sandwich, and drink a lot of water with it. For dinner eat steak/fish/pork/chicken + big bowl of veggies instead of the 6inch sub.
Agreed.

there are other better choices for protein via shakes than slim fast.

Hornyleprechaun hit it on the nail.
he said that there is 25grams in each scoop, what he didnt reveal is how many scoops he uses.
2 scoops of this whey protein provides you with 50 grams. Double that of slim fast at fraction of the cost.

I never doubled up because I was getting my protein from lunch (can of tuna) and dinner (chicken/fish) plus the late night protein shake. However, you can definitely double up if you want the protein.
