I posted another thread in here about it. Basically the "warrior" diet with a twist. Still looking for my week 5 or 6 progress pics from that diet.

If you can keep up with P90X and stay with it and stay with the changes they recommend to your diet, you will notice an amazing difference. I like to say I was born the way I was, but I'm constantly out of shape. I'm not a big guy, but even in HS without working out at all, I kept up with our varsity sprinter for the first 30-40m of the 110m dash... after that I really fell behind.

Typically though, I used to work out without paying any attention to my diet, not taking any protein shakes, etc. But after a month and a half of it, I would stop fast breaks on the court single handedly. Surprised and scared a lot of people, cause before P90X I was huffin and puffin and jogging slowly across the court. After that, they'd think twice about chuckin it across the court if I was camped out around half court

Good job!

I started 2 weeks ago - a combination of healthy eating and going to the gym every day.

Started at 263 (6'4"), today I weighed in at 247.

I'd like to get down in the 200-210 range eventually.

Thats the range i want to be. If i can get the body fat down more and the muscle i want i should be able to fit in that range. Weight loss has really slowed for me, i know my body fat is less and that is probably why, i still have the pesky mid section to work on but its getting much better. I am starting to see results there. Diet is still the hard thing for me, im on the road a lot now and trying to find healthy places to eat is hard. Im nearing the end of my first 90 (since restarting) and am looking forward to the next 90. Im thinking of doing doubles for that

Those are some awesome results! All of that from P90x? I tried p90 3 times and just never got into it so I rejoined my gym.

If you want to burn more body fat and not gain as much muscle, do more reps with less weights. I am concentrating on cardio for the most part for right now, doing a 10 min miles on treadmill, 30 min of elliptical (3.3-3.5 miles) and about 10-15 min on a bike in the morning before work.

Diet's tough for me too, I love beer and terrible foods.

Yep, all from P90. I want to loose fat AND gain muscle so im doing less reps and heavier weight right now. The cardio parts of P90x work well and i enjoy them.

Im doing the excersize, plus smaller portions of lean chicken & veggies, (Did away with 95% of bread/grains/tortillas) mornings are usually 3 eggs & some type of meat. Have fruit & peanut butter snacks between meals. Honestly, cant afford to change my diet that much since I eat with a family of 4. Whatever I eat, my kids eat, so an extreme diet is out for me at this time.

That is part of my problem, is changing the diet enough that the family will eat as well yet making it something that actually works. I think i have found a healthy balance.

I just incorporated a LOT more veggies and fruits into my diet and cut out grease. I cook with conola and I don't abuse it.

Example: Instead of baking chicken in vegetable oil and butter, I use a little conola and peppers/tomatoes/onions and let the chicken bake in all the natural juices. Much more natural.

I have also cut out most of my salt intake..for the most part. I'll still have some kosher salt with my edamame.

Another good thing to cook in is beef stock or chicken stock.

I've heard that sodium promotes water retention so if you're trying to get cut, try and reduce it as much as you can.

Where do you guys buy your food at anyway? It's really difficult for me to cut out sodium, and I don't even like salty foods that much. Obviously I should cut fast food, but it's just damn convenient and I don't cook much. A lot of fast food and canned foods have a ton of sodium.

I get mine at the local Grocery store. I just look for stuff with less sodium/calories etc.... when shopping. Sometimes ill go into the health/natural foods section and look at the options in there. Ive gotten really creative with chicken (usually marinated in some sort of flavor)/rice/noodles (brown/whole wheat) meals that are super easy to make and quick. Sams club sells big bags of chicken that are about the right portion size. If you are too lazy to fire up a grill and have a G Forman grill it takes about 10-15 min to make a meal. (if planned out a head of time)

I also shop at the local grocery store. I got to one that's a little more upscale that has much better produce than some other chains. It's a local store chain.

Fatty, do you guys have Sendik's grocery stores up there? I think they might just be in the Milwaukee area.

It's been 3 weeks since I started working out again. I skipped one day (Sunday - stupid party on Saturday and Packers were playing the Bears). I'm down 16lb total so far. My weight loss has slowed down significantly.

But I can actually run a full mile again! I don't know when's the last time I did that.

Down 20lb in 4 weeks.

I'd like to lose another 20 by end of March.

I had a lot of beer this weekend and went to a Brazilian steak house - this isn't helping.

Just an update, down to 172 as of this morning. I haven't been working out all that often, mostly running every other day when possible, I just cut all of the crap I ate throughout the day and am now very strict about eating only during meal time. It is so nice having pants that are starting to be comfortable again

I had a lot of beer and pizza and snacks this weekend..

GO PACK GO!

Back to chicken breast and salad tonight. I'd like to lose at least 5lb this week. Picked up some new running shoes, ASICS Kayano 16's - tried them out this morning - very nice. Maybe will run a little more.

I did too. I consumed A LOT of soda with all my mixed drinks, and wings. Still at 205, but im not going to let it turn into fat. Im working out extra hard now to keep it off.

I bought the K swiss Tubes for working out and stuff. AWESOME shoes. I recommend them.

I know that's what I was thinking
Gym routine cardio first 30 min treadmill then
It's 30 min stairmaster and then 30 min elliptical 1 1/2 cardio daily sometimes more
Weights and abs
About 45 min every other day.

Diet ahhh not so good I guess

When I first lost 100 lbs I would
Take in 1000 calories daily no more
And thats quick weight loss
But that doesn't work no more for my body

My body seems it doesn't wanna
Lose
Anymore

I can't eat breakfast when I wake up, I just can't Fot some odd reason, I eat 2 fruits a day and subway here and there

Cardio on a day WITH weight training really helps. DIET DIET DIET (not go on one where you dont eat) but WHAT you eat. You cant not eat much and expect to loose. You NEED to eat many times (responsibly) to keep the metabolism working, BUT you have to eat things that are good for you. Breakfast is a very very important meal. Get some meal replacement shakes (like slimfast, or any of the ones you mix with water or low fat milk). It will help jump start your body in the am, and can be used for lunch as well when you cant eat something good. a snack in the am and in the middle of the day after lunch and a healthy dinner. Also portion size and plenty of water are key.

MyTL, I have a similar issue. I lost 20lb real fast and now stay around the same weight. Gym 6 times a week, I do mostly cardio. Run a mile in 10 min, elliptical for 30 min and bike for 30 min. Sometimes I'll replace elliptical with a little weight lift.

I have been bad with diet and have since stayed around the same weight. I'm back on track this week and will see where it goes.

Quick Reply: Put on a ton of weight, anyone want to start a week by week weight loss thread?
