Is it Possible?

To lose wieght without excercising?

I have a 2 1/2 month old at home and between him and work I simply don't have the time or will to start exercising besides taking walks in the evening.

I'm about 210-212 lbs and I'd like to get to about 175. Is there a way to get there without exercice?

Slim-fast shakes? Do they work?

BBQ, can I continue eating it if I hope to lose weight?

Can't you just get one of those big yellow things and throw the baby in it then run around pushing him.

You can lose weight but without excercise you will look odd and it will be harder in my opinion. I say instead of the walk why can't you run? I used to run 2 miles a day and after about 2 months you will be able to do that shit in 15 minutes you can probably do it in 20 minutes.

As for continuing to eat, I am no dietician but I am sure if your not excercising it will be hard to eat what you want.

Truth is if you don't excercise you will be one of those skinny fat people. You know they lose weight and still look fat, like Jared from Subway.

Do some pushups and sit ups in the morning and run 2 miles a day is probably the best way to do what you want and if you have time for a walk you have time for a run.

Back to your question, yes you can but its much harder and you may not like the results

Ya, he still does look fat.

My wife is at home all day watching the baby, I don't think she'd take tooo kindly to me coming home and again leaving her with the baby all night. Taking a walk is something we can do together and gives her a break.

I could probly make some time in the morning but that would require me getting out of bed before 7:30 which just doesn't seem possible since I'm a lazy SOB. Can't stand running either. Would an excercice bike (which I have) do the trick? At least I could ride it in front of the TV.

My biggest problem though, I love eating. Pasta, meat you name it. I do a good job of eating lots of veggies and fruits and stay away from junk for the most part. I think its the no breakfast plus big lunch and huge dinner along with no excercise that kills me. I really need some will power.

and you were blaming it on your kid.

1/2 hour of cardio exercise can help if you east right. Wake up at 7 AM instead of 7:30 and hit an exercise bike for 30 mins in front of the TV. Fairly painless.

Yep, you got to do at least some exercise.

Ive been doing Slim Fast shakes in the morning and I have lost. Also, try a bowl of low fat /calorie cereal with skim milk as a meal replacement.

Its his fault

No, I couldn't get myself to excercise even before he came along but now its really a lost cause.

I've tried to get up in the morning but it just doesn't work. I wait til the last possible minute when I know I'll be late for wrok if I don't get my ass out of bed at that exact moment.

Its pathetic.

So how does this sound.

- 30 minutes of riding the bike in the morning.
- Slim fast shake for breakfast
- Slim fast shake and some fruit or veggies for lunch.
- Normal, but fairly healthy dinner?

I think I could handle that as long as I can spluge on Pizza, steak, huge plate of pasta and burgers once in awhile????

Heavy breakfast (Fiber-cereals, yogurt, and prune juice ), light lunch, semi-heavy dinner (since you love eating) with exercise.

Do that for a year and you'll be right on track..or two years.

fdl, you may know what I mean when I say a light dinner just isn't something my lifestyle can handle. Coming from a European background we tend to have large dinners or weekend lunches.

Its common for my wife to cook pasta and meat and a salad for dinner. Changing that means changing it for her as well which isn't required. I'm not saying it can't be done but its just another obstacle.

We have dinner at my parents and at my in-laws once a week as well. 10 times out of 10 there's more food there then there ever is a my place and the portions are bigger. Again another obstacle. Its really tough to turn down these meals. I've tried in the past but failed after a month or so. I need real motivation.

Oh ya, I completely understand. Between my fiance, my parents, and her parents, I am in a similar situation. Its tough. This is why excerise is so important. By doing plenty of excersise, you can get away with eating like a pig (to a certain extent).

In this case, I would exercise at night before bed in hopes to burn some of that pasta in your belly.

My fat is pretty concentrated to once area though (gut). My arms and legs are in pretty good shape since I''m still fairly active in sports and household chores. I could stand to lose some fat in my face and in the double chin area as well though.

So is excercise still an absolute must to lose the gut?

BTW - I turned down an invitation to BK at lunch. $1.69 Whopper Wednesdays.

I also have a weight bench in my basement with all nessesary free weights. Again lack of time, will power and fear of being sore for two weeks holds me back.

eat no more than 1700-2000 calories a day... This should help a bit... Watch your calorie intake... In order to loose one pound of fat, you need to burn 3500 calories...

Regards

I've started eating a Special K bar (Blueberry) at 7, gym from 7:30-8:30ish and then a small snack, like an apple, around 9am. Been going pretty well so far. Once you get into a habit itll be cake.
