One Month Challenge
Hello to all...
I have never posted in this sub-forum so hopefully I am not disturbing the peace.
I have a quick question... and I read the sticky.
How much weight can I realistically lose from now until Easter...?
Might be going to visit some of my family and can't go up there looking like some drunk degenerate...
Supplements...? Please help me!
One month...(A long time ago) I dropped 30 lbs but don't think that was healthy!
What's realistic...20 lbs?
Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

One on the right for me
Probably not more than a pound or two a week. Exercise more and eat healthy. Don't go all cray and starve yourself or start eating non-fat shit. Your body still needs fats, calories, etc. Just make sure it is done in moderation.

If you starve yourself or go to crazy lengths now to lose a lot of weight, you will gain it right back faster than you can say "Cheetos", when you start eating again.

Losing weight isn't the same thing as losing fat (which I guess it what you're really after). If you starve yourself, you'll lose lean body mass first before reducing the fat. This means you'll notice a difference on the scale but you still won't like what you see in the mirror. Forget the supplements: most of them don't work, and those that do are dangerous to your health, illegal, or both.
If you dial back your eating you should be able to drop 1-2 pounds of fat a week. Avoid alcohol. Not only is it empty calories, it also inhibits oxidation of fat.
And do yourself a favor while you're still young. Once you lose the weight, keep it off. Clean up your diet, don't drink as much and exercise more. The older you get - the harder it gets to keep the blubber off.

Working out is a lifestyle, not a change. If you are doing this because you are going to visit family, just give up now and look like a slob in front of them because the weight is just gonna go back on when you return.
You have to WANT to work out not HAVE to work out. Sorry for sounding harsh but you just seem like a typical "New Years Resolution" candidate.

The criticism is fine by me...i
Losing this weight is something I go constantly go back and forth with but I want to give off a more favorable impression then what the reality is.
If I gain the weight back when I come back...I would be fine with the temp. solution...
I do also understand it is a lifestyle...giving up beer and alcohol is something I am not ready to do...temp. I can scale back to achieve results.
I'm just looking to take as much fat off as I can in the shortest period possible.

^You dont have to give up drinking, fast food, etc. You can if you want but if you just be concious of what you're eating/drinking while sticking to a cardio/weightlifting program, you will be fine. I eat my share of pizzas, beef sandwiches, and alcohol on the weekends and still manage a 200lb frame w/ 12% body fat because I bust my ass in the gym. That and a fast metabolism helps.

It's possible to do close to 20lbs of mostly bodyfat in a month but you would have to be incredibly strict.
No alcohol whatsoever for the month. Hit the weights hard and do cardio in the morning and at night. Get as many calories from protein as you can and signifigantly lower your carb intake. No food past 2PM, no more than 1,500 calories (this is just for a month). Drink lots of water. Forget the weight loss supplements. Most of them make you lose water so you see an immediate but temporary weight loss. If you feel the need, drink coffee throughout the day.
It's hard and it's not something you want to make a habit of but it works and with minimal muscle loss.
Once you hit the goal, keep up the weights, and bring calories back in slowly. I've done 20lbs in a month before this way. I've done exactly 30lbs in a month before too for a biggest loser contest at work but it was obvious I lost a lot of muscle and I didn't like what I saw in the mirror.

I've lost just about 30 lbs. in one month before so I know it's possible.
It isn't fun but doable.
I've been working on the cardio...we shall see what transpires.
Wish me luck...not drinking will be the most difficult task at hand for muah...

The first two weeks of not drinking is the hardest. After that it's easier. Back in my heavy drinking days I went an entire summer without a drop of alcohol. I couldn't even look at a beer commercial at that time or I would drink.

The only other advice I can think of is to end your distance run with a sprint or close to it for as long as you can possibly maintain. This seems to keep the metabolism up for a long time. How's the not drinking going?
