use a basketball.....

get in a pushup position with your knees on the basketball (feet off the floor). The ball should be between your knees just below your knee caps.

Now pull your knees into your chest. As you do this the ball should roll down between your shins until it reaches your feet. Then extend your legs back out behind you to return to the starting position.

Do a few sets of 10-15 two or three times a week. This really helped me get that V right at the bottom of my abs inside my hips to show up.

To get the "penis" lines, as nokio put it, you need to start in the kitchen. I have strong as hell abs but you can't see shit because I am not lean enough. Not saying you should not work your abs, because stronger abs = stronger all around lifting. But 6 packs begin in the kitchen.

Get a swiss ball and do jackknifes. Those are always fun. But nothing beats the conventional leg lift.

And I belive abs show up in layers. You work on your top two, then the middle, then the bottom. They'll come in eventually if you keep consistent.

A good exercise I do for my lower abs is this. I lay on my back on the ab ball facing the ceiling with my arms extended holding onto the wall/pillar/rails or whatever I can. My waist line to the middle of my back is on the ball. Then with my legs straight out I open and close them (like scissors) then bring my knees into my chest and then push my legs up towards the ceiling lifting my waist off the ball.

is the machine you're using is an adjustable seat, with arm pads where you rest the backs of your upper arms near the elbows and put your hands on the handle bars and crunch down?
if so, just lower the seat, gives you a workout on the lower part of your abs.

i've got better abs than a lot of guys. they're all like, wtf?

Contrary to popular belief, the abdominals are just one long set of muscles and when you work your abs, you work your abs. That means when you do crunches, you're actually working on your abs, not just the "upper abs". You can however focus more on the lower part of your abdominals by doing an exercise that's even more effective than hanging leg raises which happen to be my favorite. Find a decline bench. Rest your head on the part that normally takes your legs and grab the edges of the bench. Raise your legs up keeping a slight bend in your knees. I guarantee that nothing will make the lower part of your abs more sore than this particular exercise. Good luck with the ab workouts.

the bicep is one muscule too, but different types of curling motions add mass to different areas, hence working inner, outer, upper, lower bicep.
