Labrada V-60 or Muscle Milk?

Which one should I take? I'd like to go the all-protein route, but I hear muscle milk tastes awesome, and I figure the creatine in it will give me a boost. Pros/Cons???

I have no clue, never seen "muscle milk", but it will start the gay comments.

I just picked up N02 and something else to take before bed to make me sleep better/muslce recovery, probably not gonna do much for me, but it is worth a shot.

I've been on the Pro V-60 for a little under a year now. I like it.

Never tried the muscle milk. Maybe I'll pick some up.

the only thing keeping me from taking muscle milk is that I'm unsure of all the stuff that they put in it. I was taking Nitrotech for a month or two and stopped when I found out they put "bovine growth serum" in it. Anybody know what goes into the Muscle Milk? (no homo comments please, thanks.) And as far as the creatine in it goes, is it even a factor?

I've found that if you buy protein that tastes good, there's probably something you don't want in there.

Also, a mix with creatine is a bad idea. Creatine breaks down in water very fast, and becomes useless by your body. I just spoon mine out of a separate container straight into my mouth with my shake.

First of all ON (Optimum Nutrition) 100% whey is one of the best on the market. And you need to take creatine with sugar. For example grape juice or apple juice. If you are just taking it by itself your wasting your time. I'd recommend pre mixed creatines. For example: Phosphagen HP, Cell tech, etc. They all include dextrose which helps spike the bloodstream for fast creatine intake. Trust me working out is my life! Diet is most important.

Musclemilk is one of the best tasting protein powders that you can get. I personally use ON, but everybody raves about the taste of musclemilk. Never tried labrada.

I've used chocolate ON for the couple months before I stopped taking it, and it tasted AWESOME. I was just looking to possibly try something new (maybe better). Musclemilk seems to taste the best according to the general consensus, but as a lot of you said, the creatine is pretty worthless, and I don't want to take it either way. Labrada sounds pretty good too, but I think ON's amino blend is pretty good. I remember reading somewhere that good protein should "bunch up" a little instead of being like sand. ON does that. I guess I'm gonna check out Labrada and depending on price difference make a decision. I'll probably go with ON cause it's so cheap at vitaminshoppe (like $25 for a 5lb. tub i think). Anybody know a place that offers ON cheaper? Oh yeah, and THANKS a bunch for all the responses. I know there's a lot of meatheads on here.

Edit: Can't seem to find any flavors besides vanilla and chocolate. ???

one last question is: How much protein should I be taking after my workout and in the mornings? I've heard from some places that you should take as much protein as possible after your workout, and some places say that your body can only process a certain amount of protein so it's useless to drink too much at once. I also heard consuming too much protein can turn your muscles into mush. Can somebody clarify? Educated people only please, thanks. I want facts.

Say you weigh 180 pounds....Take (3) 60 gram servings a day

"They" say that if your serious about lifting and doing it right you should consume 1 g. of protein per pound

Ugghhh...

3 60 gram servings? Your body cannot absorb 60g protein in one setting. A more logical way is (6) 30 gram servings a day. Which also speeds up your metabolism.

Bro, instead of asking on here and getting alot of dumb information...Why don't you just research it there is tons of bodybuilding forums. For example:

www.bodybuilding.com
www.wannabebig.com
www.massmonsterz.com
www.bodybuildingforyou.com
www.getbig.com

My bad - your body can absorb up to 50 grams in one meal....Only if you are into hardcore bodybuilding your body can absorb more

Everyone body is different there is no magic number. Some people can absorb 10g some people can absorb 70g in 1 sitting.

In order to keep your metabolism going spread the protien and carb intake over the day, easiest is 6 meals. 5 is ok too. Rule of thumb: 1g Protien for 1lb bodyweight every day and you'll be fine.
I personally use ON 100% because of price and the fact that it is low on carbs. Remember that your protien shakes are all included in your daily allotment of intake. I take 5-7g per day of 100% creatine quickly swished in a glass of grape juice and taken after I workout, sometimes directly with my meal. The body takes in creatine better when with a sugar / carbs like previously stated.
I also take Ultimate Man multivitamin/mineral (slow release) every day to make sure I'm good in that dept.

I personally am using simple protien and simple creatine to keep it easy. I stay away from the "everything's included in me and i taste superb" claims because a lot of the combo powders have a lot of sugar (to help the creatine) and it gets harder to account for this in combination with your other meals through the day. A lot of people end up putting on too much fat along with the muscle because their overall intakes are too high. It's all in what goes in, in what quantity and when from all the research I've done.

I'm not saying I know it all or that I'm some hardbody but I am on the road to great overall fitness. I've just done some homework reading up on things. I've seen a dramatic difference when I've changed WHAT I eat (simple foods stay away from processed stuff), WHEN I eat (6 times a day, I'm never hungry and often feel like I may be eating too much) and HOW MUCH I eat (small meals one serving protein 30g and 1 serving carb 20g). I've gained muscle and lost fat.

This was prior to supplementing with Creatine.

Oh yeah, if you bought NO2, I don't think it'll make you sleep any better. It has stimulant properties as well if I remember correctly. Read the directions closely as I believe you need to take it a specific times through the day, otherwise you are wasting your money.

N02 should be taken in the AM with breakfast and at lunch with your meal. It should not be taken later according to the label. I just got some the other day, along with some GH-Stack which I mix before I go to bed, which is supposed to help the muslces rebuild better/faster.

I find I am drinking a lot of water (10-12oz every 45mins) throughout the day.

Also remember this...You are either cutting, bulking, or maintaining. There is nothing else. So don't really try to lose fat and get bigger at the same time do one at a time. A general rule is 12 x body weight = calories for cutting 15 x body weight = calories for maintaining and 17-18 x body weight = for bulking. And when bulking I would recommend you do it slowly and not to go past the 17-18 or else you will put on too much fat. A slow bulk packs the most lean mass. And when you cut slowly decrease your calorie intake a week like first week 200 less then 400 less then 800 less dont just drop huge all the sudden.

Its all about calories in and calories out. Thats means everything. FAT doesnt make you fat excess calories make you FAT.

i recently ran out of muscle milk, but it is def the best tasting drink you can buy. On the big tub, it explains the kind of creatine that is in there. it isnt just strait up creatine, but it is an enzyme that makes your body naturally produce more creatine for lifting. sorry if this was already said, but i just wanted to comment since i have taken it, and it does work quite well for what it is.

That's what i did at school when i couldn 't get good dextrose for cheap.

I would actually mix it separately and chase the shake with it. Tastes much better than mixing, and you get rid of the aftertaste from the protein.
