Nitro Whey...to to prosourceonline . com

Prosource is a great brand and their protein is 100% whey isolate aka, great taste, smooth, and the best quality protein.

I took muscle milk, great tasting but has alot of fat.

i suggest Isopure , taste isn't nearly as good as muscle milk, but it has 0 fat, 0 carbs and 50 grams of pure protein.

50 grams is WAY too much to have at one time...your body will only absorb like half that at once. The rest will turn into a big ass turd before you know it. 25-30 grams is a good serving

though Isopure is one of the best proteins out there...along with Prosource Nitro Whey

I recently bought a pack of Muscle Milk; it tastes great but has an odd metallic aftertaste. The guy at GNC told me that this is one of the more palatable shakes.

I am such a noob.

Anyway, I drink it once a day after my evening workout. Should I be doing this several times a day? Any suggestions?

every body absorbs protein differntely. Your going out on a chain saying 50 is way to much to take in.

And although isopure has 0 carbs, if it's a postworkout drink, your body needs carbs to help repair/refuel those muscle fibers!

Its obviously only a protein powder, not post workout...there are specific things for that...hell even a chicken breast and some rice is really good.

No Im not going out on a chain saying 50 is too much...maybe for a 300 pound person its not, but Im talking about a normal sized person.

well it's not worth arguing about heh

ya chicken breast and rice is good, but drinks are usually perfered due to faster absoprtion, but then again, im sure it dosent make all that much of a difference.

Persoanally, i like keeping my insulin low all day, even after the post workout.

My PW drink includes
2 scoops optimum whey
1 cup oatmeal
1/2 banana
water/ice

I know plenty who use gatorade powder instead of oats, but to each their own i suppose.

you put oatmeal in your shakes? for what purpose, and doesn't that make it chunky?

Does Optimum Whey Protein have micelled caseins? I've read some online material and this stuff is digested very slowly (over 3-7 hours), which is why muscle milk can be taken at bedtime.

Nope. Its just mainly a Whey protein with essential amino acids. Its perfect for first thing in the morning, and before/after a workout. I dunno if I would believe that the Muscle Milk is slowly digested over 3-7 hours, seems like a marketing lie.

I'd recommend Cottage Cheese, and a nice glass of milk before bed. Very slow digesting proteins. And it's also good to throw in some EFA's (good fats) ie: Natural Peanut Butter. I just mix it right into the cottage cheese good shiiiit!

I have that same exact shake, but I use 2 cups of Milk, instead of water. Actually the gatorade powder is good, because you want an insulin spike after your workout. But I think the banana does a well enough job....Maybe you can buy some Dextrose...

Peanut butter + Cottage Cheese? Hmmmm...Perhaps I will try it at least once.

But I will definitely get some Optimum Whey for the mornings. My usual breakfast is a Grande Americano. Perhaps I can use it as a chaser.

Yea, i avoid the milk due to absorption reasons, but im sure it matters not .

I never really went with the inuslin spike post workout, but then again, the banana has a high GI.

R0dxx we seem to have alot in common with our likeness for lifting/nutrition

Whey protein Isolate is much better than the cheeper more readily used whey protein concentrate. I think this is a good thread, lets keep it up with some good info. for all the wannabe meat head Acura drivers!!!

good link rise!

cookies & cream muscle milk taste > *

but I must say it's a little expensive. locally about $22-23 for a 2lb. tub, whereas I just picked up a 5lb. tub of Optimum Nutrition's Cookies and Cream for $27. Even though it tastes like shit (shoulda gotten the chocolate), it's pretty light and easy to mix. Goes down easy. But while we're on the topic. You guys are really dedicated to the whole strict diet thing. I dunno about all that dextrose, maltodextrose, etc. All I do is watch what I eat, drink a protein shake after my workout and in the morning and I'm set. Four years ago I weighed 188lbs. and struggled to put up 100lb on the bench. I lost 28 pounds of that in six months from dedicated lifting and diet-monitoring. I was toning for the first 3 years, but now I'm trying to bulk up. Currently, I'm 6'0" 175lbs., 265 bench max, 40 pound dumbbell curls, 165 military press, 315 squats(just started, but still pretty sad), etc. Hopefully, my recent maxing out and protein intake can take me a little further. But shoulder injury's been a bitch.
I'm just here to stand out from a crowd of small, short, asian men.

hey, do you have a "hook up" with ephedra? or did you stocked up before they banned the stuff? I stocked up, but I'm running low....

and as for "Muscle Milk" correct me if I'm wrong... but doesn't it have high in sat. fat?

Personally, I just try to eat FOOD chicken breast every 3 hours, 1 cup oat meal in the morning... but IF I have to.... I'll go with a protein shake... it's better than starving.

http://www.vitasprings.com/vasopro-ephedrine-hcl.html

Its made for people with asthma but it is pure ephedrine. I have done a lot of research on it and from bodybuilding.com message board and my personal use it works fine. Instead of using Xenadrine you can order the pure stuff and try it yourself. You can find it online for $8 a bottle and what I did was stock up on them for now while they are off the ban list. You can even buy them on Amazon.com. But if you want to do reasearch go right ahead cause they talk about it on a lot of fitness boards and in articles.

50lbs' a lot of weight... this is what you could do to really motivate yourself.... everytime you hit the gym... go up to the dumb bell rack and pick up a 50lb dumb bell... and tell yourself... that's how much extra weight you're haulin' around... then when you start losing weight... say... after you've lost 20lbs... go up and grab the 20lbs dumb bell and tell yourself that's how much you've lost and be pround... but tell yourself... you're gonna continue... and go further up on the dumb bell rack... eventually, reach to the 50 dumb bell.

well, that's what I do with my clients anyway... so, it may or may not work for you...

or you might be motivated enough already, and don't need that little advice.

ya know what? I've seen that at the store I go to... and didn't think it had actual ephedra in it, I thought it was just another wanna be weight loss pill... how is it that they can sell it? How did they get by the "law"?

I am not even going to front like I know but from what I have read other people say is that this is synthetic and they only banned Natural Ephedra. From what people say it has the same effect, I really dont know because Ephedra never effected me either. I haven't been working out at my peak yet so I really don't know if they are just as good but they seem ok. I would read up on them, cause who knows maybe they just have a placebo effect. They do have a warning on them though.

Ephedrine HCL is completely legal, not sure but I think you can also find in otc's like Sudafed.

BTW, to answer the orginal question Optuim Nutrition whey > *.

Quick Reply: I'm tired of Muscle Milk...
