Hmb

Does anyone have first hand experience with beta-hydroxy-beta-methyl butyrate (HMB)?

It looks like a promising suppliment. I was curious if anyone could notice differences, good or bad, while taking it?

What I find in PubMed seems to be a wash.

HMB is a regular part of my supplementation. Aside from creatine, and protien it is the only other supplement that I can actually see a difference with.

I didn't see any strength gains associated with HMB. I did however dramatically increase post work out recovery time. Furthermore I'm convinced that I'm acquiring lean mass faster with it than without.

For myself I can't tell any difference between 4 grams, and 6 grams for a daily intake dosage. I found this particularly interesting given your two links above. If you follow the directions on the bottle you would be at 12 grams daily.

That is my at least.

thanks!

yeah I've started it and have noticed recovery times seem to be a bit lower. However, I haven't taken it long enough to tell whether I'm gaining lean muscle mass or not.

The directions on my bottles are 4 capsules three times a day. Each capsule is 250mg of HMB so I get 3g a day.

Hopefully some more ppl have tried this out.
