Excess skin and stretch marks
As sexy as it sounds, I have a good amount of excess skin and stretch marks in my middle area. I think some of the H&F people had said there are some things to do. I think Beet said that a doctor can prescribe stuff. I saw ads that say to use cocoa butter. I also heard that nothing really works and only surgery works. Internet searching has brought up every scam imaginable. Any suggestions? Thanks.

You cant get rid of stretch marks without getting some sort of medical procedure. I would speak to a dermatologist and see if he could prescribe you something. Other than that...You could try that tan stuff in the bottle...helps hide the stretch marks.

Cocoa butter is to prevent. Nothing short of surgery will get rid of excess skin. Just tan the stretch marks. As for excess skin, if it bothers you that much, spend the money to get rid of it, otherwise, learn to live with it. Besides, you're married right? Too later for her to run anyhow.

Um, I'd wait until you hit your target, and then go for the surgery. It is minor, the scarring is inconspicuous, and you will not have a vestigial reminder of your former body weight. It will also encourage you to stay at your reduced weight.......It is a very simple plastic surgery, and can be done with limited loss of time and modest pain.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I should have cocoa'ed myself up while loosing weight. SDC - it's never too late for her to run .
Ric - Ill check with my doc to see if its worth it. Im not sure if insurance will cover it since it's cosmetic.

A lot of men get it on their chest, upper back, or ass from gaining weight or muscle too fast. Too late now.

Yeah, it's pretty gross if you look too close. I've been hooking up with a girl who had a kid (whole another mess of a story) and she's pretty skinny now but she's got stretch marks on her stomach where it got all big. Ladies, I know it's natural so don't hate me for saying it but it's still not that attractive. Cocoa butter those bellies like you've got a lifetime supply.

Man fucking stretchmarks, I got 2 on my stomach and that shit look nasty. Look like someone got a laser and burned 2 lines across that shit. If I get a 6 pack (isn't too far away) it'd hopefully help it look better right? Fucking growth spurts man...

Stretch marks arent a big deal. Especially if you're white, they arent as noticable. Excess skin thats a tougher one.... you can always hide stuff in it Jk Surgery is the only thing I can really think of to cure that.

i don't know the real answer for this, but i've always wondered, after some time, wouldn't your excess skin start to just get tighter? i figure since the body doesn't use it, it can just get rid of the extra cells. i think the reason you have the skin is because you lost weight fairly quickly in comparison to gaining it over a longer period of time. maybe your body will catch up and just get rid of it on it's own.
someone let me know if this is true.

No. Your skin actually gets looser. You actually don't "make" too many new cells after your mid twenties. You just regenerate enough to maintain. And as for bigger muscles, your existing cells get larger and longer more than creating new cells.
Just look at a grandma's arms. They have that hanging skin thing. Even skinny old people's necks. Your skins just hangs around even though the fat underneath is gone. Your body doesn't just get rid of extra cells. Even when fat people lose weight, the fat cells don't die. They just hang around with less mass and content inside. I've even heard that it's easier to gain weight after being fat because the blood system and the extra fat cells already exist, ready to expand again.
