Egg yolk = bad?
Okay, so I need something to be verified and confirmed for me. I like hardboiled eggs. But I've been brainwashed into thinking that the yolk is unnecessary and is all cholesterol anyway. And apparently all the protein is in the egg white only anyways.
So.. some questions.
Is egg yolk really that bad for you?
Am I losing most of my protein intake by not eating the yolk?

I shoot people
I think there's about 3 grams of protein in the yolk... but it's got fat and cholesterol too...

I don't think they are "bad." Probably no worse than eating a steak. I forget the exact numbers but I think 2 whole eggs are ok for daily cholestrol intake. Just don't eat like 10 of them but nothing to avoid like the plague.

Hha, thanks for the suggestions ya'll. And don't worry, I'm not sittin' here counting calories like i was going to die with my next meal. Yes, I am only 19, but basically for the rest of summer, I'm making a drastic diet change and upping my workout time so I can @least cut up a bit before school starts, and I revert back to horrible eating and sleeping habits. I'd like to start getting back in shape, and as I've been told 100 times before, 80% of getting in shape is diet.

word. unless you are housing 3-egg ommeletes every day you are fine. there is a lot of nuttrition in the yolks to go along with some of the bad stuff. stick to one or so a day and buy eggs from organically fed free-range hens.. they taste better and contain more of the healthy omega-3/6's ... and the birds werent pumped full of enough antibiotics to cure 100,000 colds

Cholesterol in foods is overrated. It has an effect on your cholesterol levels but it's not nearly as drastic as they would have you believe.

And 80% of diet is actually counting calories

I usually have one hard boiled egg a day in my salad with the yolk. I have lost 80 lbs so I guess it's not too bad.
