Do you have Partners?
I notice I do a lot better when I have people around me that work out. Sadly most of my friends are naturally skinny people and do nothing but eat pie and never work out. Anywho do you have a partner or someone that makes sure you work out.

I see a professional trainer once a week. The other two times, I fly solo. My trainer makes sure my form is good, the sequence is good, I'm not going nuts on weight increases and the pace is decent. He varies the regimen about every two months.
I don't work out in a large gym, but either in my trainer's fitness center or in the small "spa' that is part of my building. THere are a few regulars there, and we know and chat with each other, but rarely about our workout regimens. I avoid a large gym becuase the ones available to me in downtown Philly more closely resemble a singles bar, not a workout center. Hard to get work done in the world of sprayed on lycra spandex workout suits........

I've got myself a weightlifting partner...no cardio partner (since i do cardio in the treadmill in my basement)...
My partner can lift about 15-25lbs more than me right now, so that in a way helps me to push myself ("if he can do it i can too with a little bit of work")
Back in one the day, in one of my college dorms, they had 3 cycling machines which were hooked up and you could race each other (either first to x miles wins or distance after x min). I only used them once (since i was a vegetable back then) but I haven't seen any setup like that in any other gym I've been too. I thought it was a cool idea to get ppl to push themselves (nothing makes ppl work like competition). Does anyone else have gyms with machines linked up like this? (sorry to hijack your thread but the memory came back to me just now)

Nope, all my friends are lazy. Or they aren't on the same lifting scale as I am. However, I love lifting by myself, it gives me time to think. Also, I don't have to wait for anybody or change my routine to fit my partner.

My friend lifts with me sometimes but his girlfriend is always bitching about him being up late and it pisses me off because she fucks up our rotation. Either way its a lot better having a partner because you can max out a lot better and with cardio I used to run with this hot blonde from my job (5'10 nothing but legs and a nice ass) she was a former track runner and basically still in great shape but now she dates some asshole who locked her up from everyone.

i don't work out, but i ride my bicycle every day.
I've been averaging about 34miles/day for the past month.
I don't have anyone to ride with, but i have had a partner on two occasions this summer...
it was great to have someone with me, i found the time passed a lot quicker, however I also found my pace to be 2-3mph slower when riding with someone else...

But flyin' solo always = less time wasted.

Go Giants
A few weeks ago my coworker asked me if I wanted to work out with him and another guy (we go to the same gym). So I decided I would. Their workout consisted of jump rope and kicking and punching a gym bag, which Im sure is what you do if you want to kick ass. But it wasnt for me.
