I have been running for over a month now. I started by running 1 mile, and then trying to run it faster. Now I run 1 mile, then do a hard 1/4 mile.

I have noticed these lumps directly above my knee caps. One on each leg and on the inside. When I stand straight up, this soft lump sticks out. If I lock my knees with pressure, it diminishes. I have no knee pains at all, just my calves and quads get typical muscle sore.

Is this a normal muscle? Or am I inflaming a tendon? I tried looking at muscle diagrams of the legs but I can't figure it out.

so using the diagram below, that is the right knee, it's the bump above the articular cartilage.

not sure, shrugs, it doesn't hurt, so i'm not really worried, but i guess i should go see a doctor.

its probably some fluid that has built up in ur knee fromthe extra stress u been puttin on it...i heard its normal...jus have to get it drained
