Best low-fat, low-carb, low-sodium snacks?

I just had a 5 calorie pickle, some nuts and water. But next time I'm at the grocery store, it'd be nice to know what to pick up. What else is there?

Yogurt
Assorted fruit, vegetables and nuts
Raisins
Select cheeses
Rice cakes
Peanut butter
Pretzels

And these look good:

Id stay away from Yogurt unless it's fat free. Also stay away from granola, it's not low anything. There is dried beef (sort of like beef jerky but not as salty) that is good. Pistachios are good.

Beef jerkey is HORRIBLE diet food. That's like half the daily intake. Other good "snack" food are, glass of milk, a piece of fruit, peanut butter and celery, peanuts,

PB and cheese is not what I would call low-fat. Raisins and fruit in general has lots of carbs, namely sugar. Dried fruit is esp bad since it is not as dense as fresh fruit.

There are not many foods that meet all three of those requirements. Veggies, rice cakes, certain fruits are possible ideas. I suppose it depends on what you call low-fat/carb/sodium.

Well, by "low" I mean you can have a small-to-decent sized portion and not feel very guilty.
a little fat, some carbs, and little sodium is cool. I want to stay away from things like chips and candy when I want a snack...

By fitting the three requirements of low-sodium, low-fat, and low-carb, I figured I would have a limited selection of things to munch on, but I thought there might be SOME stuff that I didn't think about...

I just thought of another one, actually:

Dried fruit

And isn't there a cost-benefit to eating things like nuts, or cheese, when the benefit to those foods is the higher vitamin or protein content?

Nuts (with some exceptions) have a good benefit. They have good fat in them which the body uses.

right, a little PB on a rice cake is not a bad snack at all - the fats are beneficial. So I can see it falling into your category of a good snack that is low in c/f/s. Dried fruit is typically not regarded as the best snack only because it takes so much to fill you up compared to fresh fruit, so you eat a lot of sugar in the process. I am taking the low-carb idea into consideration here.

Yeah...watch the cashews/macadamias.

JIF makes a great reduced-fat PB. Celery & PB sticks aren't too bad for ya.

Low sodium wheat pretzels aren't bad.

Rice cakes come in a WIDE variety these days...as well as a ton of other rice-cake-like snacks(chip-like also). I like the nacho cheese rice cakes...not bad.

What about a Special K bar? I wake up in the morning starving and have one for breakfast. Does the trick. I know a lot of people who eat this for a snack.

The special K bars are pretty high is calories and fat IMO. I was eating the Slim Fast bars, which aren't too bad and for energy before the gym, I eat a Pria bar.

Pria bars only have 5grams of protein... but they're only 110 calories. I'll have to try one.

Taste fine to me, but at this point cardboard with some sugar tastes ok.

True, there is not much protein to them, but it's something with the least amount of calories / fat.

fruit: apples, prunes (make you poop good, but don't eat too many), bananas.
ricecakes, yogurt, veggies and [low-fat?] dressing.
soy crisps - in the ricecake section, they're pretty good.
bowl of special k.
hard boiled egg (good for a snack, will fill you up).
nutrigrain bars, nature's valley granola bars.
the list goes on...

be careful not to overdo the fruit though, as some kinds are high in sugar (fructose). otherwise, fiber is your best friend.

AND...fructose stimulates your appetite...not good on a diet.

Soy Crisps aren't bad either, IMHO...just a tad bit pricey for a daily snack.

18 is not bad. if you're on a 2000 calorie/day diet, you should be getting about ~250g per day.

atkins = devil. don't be afraid of carbs. be afraid of saturated fat.
