Before/after pics almost ready!
So after 4 years off of working out and starting and then stopping a week later, 5,000 calories a day for 4 years, lots of broken promises to myself, I'm almost back to the shape I was 4 years ago, probably a bit bigger.
I decided to do a semi-clean bulk. Starting weight was 230lbs 3.5months ago today, current 244lbs and much leaner by accident. Now that I've got my muscle back I'm starting a month long final cut. I have before pictures and even though they looked bad at the time, looking back at them I can't believe that was me, that I let myself go downhill that bad. Going to take pictures tonight of the end of my bulk, pre-cut and I'll take another final picture of my cut.
I'm finally excited about something, the change is drastic in both muscle mass and the amount of fat I accidentally lost.
My diet consisted of about 3,500-4,000 a day, a fair amount of junk food but a little better than normal for me. No supplements for the first 2 months just to see where I'm at in my old age. For the last 1.5 months I've used Creatine, Muscle Milk for my protein, all of the aminos, and just the past 2 weeks, "C4" pre workout drink. I hate supplements other than the old school stuff but I've had a hard time making it through my workouts and the C4 helps. I still hate stimulants though. I get heart palpitations and jittery very easy.
I hit one plateau through it all so I started hitting my legs hard and added an hour of extra sleep per night and it got me right through it.
I expect to be around 220-225lbs when done which was at the high end of my goal. That should be perfect at 6'1". A little more than I wanted so I can take another 4 years off lol.
In this time, my bench shot up from 280 to 405lbs. Squats still suck at...... about the same as my bench. Deadlifts went from 505lbs to 600lbs. After I'm done with this, going to start Judo since it's something I've never trained in but always wanted to. The size will probably hurt me but the cardio involved should get rid of some of the muscle.

In the beginning I had to tell myself I was only going to do one set and then go home. That's how I got myself to go to the gym. Once there I usually did a full workout. After a couple months it becomes a part of your routine and you feel like you're missing something. Now I'm afraid to miss a day because I'll take another 4 years off. It's that first month or so that's so hard. If you make it through that, you're good to go.

You have to bring Majofo along too so we can all go paddle boat riding together (yes I was jealous).

I'll put the before pics, the pics right after the bulk, but not until I have the cut pics too. If I didn't need to win this $100 right now I would not do this but I'm that broke after my recent audio purchases.
I actually measured my arms for the contest, something I have not done since highschool. I guessed 15.5" to 16" but ended up being 18-3/4". If I can stay around 18" after the cut I will be very happy. BF was 16.5% using the caliper method.

Forgot, sorry for overreacting. You have no idea how much I've been teased since I started working out again. The fat jokes, roid jokes, etc. Everywhere I turn people are making fat jokes, even my hair cutter. At one point in my life it was flattering to be accused of roids. At this point I'm sick of it and tend to get a little defensive too easily.

I remember during my cut last year, I hadn't seen someone in 2 yrs and they were like, "wow, you got skinny!" I was 5'11 - 185lbs w/ 11% BF at the time. Most people in fitness would've called me lean or in in good healthy shape. Her term made me sound like I was a walking stick.
This year I basically stopped cutting in July after my Vegas trip. Switched up my protein along with eating more and I gained about 5lbs, mostly muscle. I'm 5'11 - 200lbs @ around 12%. Now I have family members and some friends asking what I am taking and if I am juicing. My one friend even gave me the nickname "Juice" but he knows I don't do that stuff and it's all in fun.

Ha, it's all good. I can relate however I don't get as defensive. People that say that typically don't know how hard it is to even achieve certain results. They just run their mouth and assume you took the easy way out with the needle.

Once I started putting on size I bought all new shirts, XL instead of L. It sounds weird but I don't like feeling like people are staring at me so I actually dress to hide it when I'm in shape and don't really care when I'm not in shape. Besides, this town is full of meatheads on steroids looking for fights, I don't want to fit that profile. We have a ton of 21yr olds out at the clubs that I call new muscle. They have done their first cycle and go around bumping people, trying to provoke a fight. It's actually funny to watch sometimes.
5'11", 200lbs and 12%, that's huge! If I remember right, you train in mma, right?

I hear you. My mother especially likes to act like I'm about to die of starvation even when I'm anywhere from 200-220lbs when my BF gets into the 12% or lower range. Once I got fat about 3 years ago she said I look "healthy" lol.

Ya I wouldn't say I'm huge. More of an athletic build I guess. No training of MMA but I know enough about it and watch every UFC to basically seem like I train. LOL
