Question Anyone ever order contacts online? - confused..

So I have my eye exam a couple of weeks ago and I get my glasses prescription and contact lens prescription.

I have astigmatism so the doctor got me a perscription for Acuvue Oasis for astimatism. I let my insurance cover my glasses, but I have to pay out of the pocket for the contacts, the only thing is, this place charges $50/box and because I have a different script for each eye, this means I need two boxes.

The lady told me to go online to get them cheaper, so I do this today, but when going to 1-800-contacts and discount contacts and try enter my script information, but neither of these sites have my exact prescription

Example:

My right eye:
-2.25 -0.75 (cylinder) X 156 (axis)
But neither has this lens in a 156 axis (it skips from 150 to 160)

My left eye is even more confusing
-2.25 -1.00 (cylinder) X 011 (axis)
Not only is there no matching contact for the axis (closest being 10), they also don't match the cylinder (it skips from -0.75 to -1.25)

I have attached a picture to show what I'm talking about.

I called the doctor's office and they told me the prescriptions have to be exact and she's not sure why they don't have my prescription. I've been wearing contacts for over 15 years, but this is my first time ordering online.

Any help or explanation would be appreciated.

I would call 1800Contacs, then you can be sure you have the right brand/size. I heard their customer service is top notch. As a bonus their number is easy to remember.

Called them up this morning and they said that prescription above sounded like it was for glasses and contacts are usually not that precise. So it turns out the doctors office had my prescriptions reversed on the paper. I called the doctor back to verify this was the case.

My contacts are slightly weaker in power, both with the same cylinder with one axis being 160 and the other 010. And these are available at the site. thanks!

Have you tried visiondirect.com (think thats the site) or shipmycontacts.com. I think they may have cheaper prices and it never hurts to look.

yeah, I was looking at 1800 contacts and saw that their prices were a whopping $2 cheaper than the store. Discountcontacts.com is much cheaper, but I haven't ordered yet so I'll be sure to check out visiondirect and shipmycontacts before deciding who to go with.

Thanks!
