26er vs 29er
Hey guys,
So I'm looking for a new mountain bike to conquer the streets of NYC and the trails. I'm sticking to three brands Trek, Raleigh or Niner (if I can get a good price on it.)
I've always rode the 26, I like it for it's maneuverability and accident avoidance (NYC.. everything and everyone is in your way)...
I need a bike that will be comfortable (not hurt my nuggets too much) and able to take pavement punishment.. 140mm I guess will do the trick.
Anyone has experienced any 29ers? Please share your stories.
Thanks!

Yes, I am on the mtbr guys, I just wanted your opinion.
I went with Cannondale SL2 (26) as my start up bike. I did many tests rides of 29ers with Specialized, Cannondale and Niner... I found 29ers to be annoying in tight single trails, but they are very fast. I like nimble riding, so 26 is for me.

I hope that was a joke, as we are surrounded by mountains, parks, lakes, trails. Manhattan is the not the only thing NY state has...
I personally do a bunch of trails in Catskills; but NYC itself has a lot of challenging bike trails that require an ample beating on a bike.
