Will any brand engine air filter do ?
Just wondering. Outside of K&N(which I have decided against despite 6 extra HP ) they are all between 11-15 dollars. Am I good just popping anyone in there ?

OK...got inpatient and ordered the purolator. I had a K&N in my 3G. Try something different. I thought I read somewhere that the OEM filters are outsourced and made by purolator anyway.

I tried the K&N, no difference, I guess the only advantage is being able to clean it and re-use. FRAM is super cheap at my local farm & fleet, easy to swap out a new one every oil change, about once a year for me

K&N can be good, however a lot of people tend to over oil them when reusing them and end up causing engine problems. IMO, the disposable ones are better.

I only have 12 thousand miles on mine too! Low mileage but my car is a 2012.

I checked and replaced my cabin filter in the first 24 hours of ownership, just took me longer to get around to the engine one. It wasn't nearly as bad but needed replacing as well.

Had no problem running K&N during past four Honda/Acura vehicles. I clean and re-oil every 30K miles and good to go.
When it comes to any replacement parts, there always will be pro/con with each product, just like OEM oil filters made by Fram debate. Use whatever you feel comfortable and believe will get the best job done at good value.
