i am new to this forum, 2010 TL with tech package is currently at 61000 miles which I bought at 40K miles from Acura. My question is at what mileage should I replace my timing belt and water pump? Acura dealership is recommending for me to replacement as it's at 61K miles but I am not sure 🤔

Change it when the A4 indicator once it comes up on the MID.

Rough rule of thumb is ~7-8 years or ~100k miles.

Official Canadian Acura recommendation for timing belt is 170,000 km which equates to approx. 100,000 miles.
60,000 miles is premature unless the car has been abused.

There we have it, no time period designated.

The 60k miles is if the car is driven regularly in temps over 110F, or under -20F.

Belts can deteriorate with time... It's why you'd replace tires that have been sitting for years on a car. Dry rot, etc

Absolutely, just used tires as an example. Cracks, missing teeth, etc can all happen in a timing belt however. They're not magical

Even timing chains can (and will) stretch over time.

Isn't it time and mileage? 60k yes, under 100k, but we're talking about a vehicle that was most likely 1st on the road in late 2009, early 2010 (sale date). I believe its 7yrs /100k miles which ever occurs first.

My 2007 RL is at 76,000 miles and I decided to replace the timing belt because I plan on keeping the car a very long time. I'm also having the tensioner replaced with the belt so I know I'm good to go for a while.

There is no time specified, just the MID, @ 105,000 miles.
Replaced my 2004 a couple of weeks ago, 102,000 miles, 13+ years, perfect condition, as was the tensioner, idlers, and water pump. Pictures can be seen over on the 3G forum.

An argument I would make though on the "no time specified" is seen below, a sample Maintenance Schedule from Honda for a ~'03-09 Pilot (also J series engine)

Note that every interval has a mileage and time frame associated with it. Timing belt is 105,000 miles or 84 months (7 years)

They have cut over to the Maintenance Minder system (A, B, C + 1, 2, 3, etc) but I don't think that magically negates what they've been publicly posting for years. You're also going to spend the money regardless, whether it's now or later. Why not have the peace of mind and just have it done? Timing belt snapping isn't
