New 2010 6 speed CBP here

Just got mine last week. Cross-shopped against Infiniti G and Audi S4 (although, considering my disasterous experience with a VW Phaeton, I truly did not seriously consider Audi as I want bullet-proof reliability).

So, I think this gives me nearly all the fun as if I went with a WRX-STI or Evo MR Touring, but with a respectable image and level of luxury for a professional in his mid-40's. I cannot wait to get through the breakin period and do some spirited driving. Peace all. Mike

Hey congrats and welcome. You looked at the same cars as a lot of us and made your choice for the same reasons as a lot of us. The car is really hard to beat.

Just remember, when in a curve, when your brain says brake, think gas. The beauty of SH-AWD!

Nice color, BTW.

I picked up my CBP 6 MT five weeks ago. The dealer had already installed the front and rear underbody spoilers, so I completed the look with the side underbody spoilers. Also went for the sport grille and rear sport trim, clear bra and 3M 35% tint. Someday I'll get time to take photos.

Cool Painted beak - MBM

Thought I would share a photo-- my front bumper got scrapped up in a parking lot, so I got the beak painted at the same time-- MBM here. Think it looks 110% better- IMHO. Apologies for the cell phone pic for now. Took it in to Acura for Service and the writer just couldn't figure out what was different--
guess familiarity breeds contempt.

Loving mine still, sitting at 45,000 miles. Just did a polish/sealant/wax on the car over the weekend, looks terrific still! I really want to get new rims and the rear lip kit soon!

I think we're all wondering where you got the Canadian-style shift knob?

Oh my god... where did you get that shift knob??? That was the same knob that was in all the pre-release 6MT 4G TL press photos.

Did you pick it up at Acura of Scottsdale? I went to go look at one they had in stock but it was gone by the time I arrived Well Congrats, wish you were closer so I could check it out!

LOL, I got it off of the CR-Z non EX model. It's not exactly like the pre-release one, the material on the shift knob is not leather and it's a different shape than the TL stock shift knob. You'll also need to pay for the boot to get the correct connector for the knob to boot.

yo mugen_kid...small world indeed. yes, picked it up in North Scottsdale and since only the FSM was available in MT, the choice was easy. Before that, Peoria sold the only other MT in AZ - a Palladium 2011 model if i remember correctly - before i could test drive it. AZ...the land of the AT.

kudos on the NSX btw. I've always been a fan. (great appearance on Pulp Fiction too)

Well congrats on the purchase. I wish more dealers would stock the MT. I was really suprised to see the MT at Acura of Scottsdale for they told me they would never order one in. But look happened it sold fast I had my eye on the 2011 at Peoria but im having a hard time choosing between white or silver.

Coincidently, I have been to Acura of Peoria too. When I volunteered my car to be the 4G SH-AWD test mule for the J-Pipe (Made by Billy Boat Performance Exhaust, a couple miles away) I stopped by AoP and asked them if they'd price match the factory accessory side skirts to their price on eBay. Sure enough, they did and I ended up driving back to El Paso, TX that day with a new J-pipe and a set of super cheap side skirts. It's a really nice dealership compared to all the other ones I've been at, but they had no MT's on the lot! Not even TSX's

That background pic looks familiar. That wouldn't be Factoria Mall would it?

It is Factoria Mall, my wife works over there and I was early meeting her for lunch so I stopped in there and took some quick pictures. Do you work/live near there?

I live about 20min south of Factoria, but my wife likes to visit her favorite store (Nordstrom Rack), so I've been conditioned to my surroundings there

Speaking of which, Factoria Mall's parking lot would be a great place for a potential Acura mini meet.

Nice, I live about 20 minutes west of there (seattle). The parking lot would be a good meeting place, there's usually tons of empty spaces, especially over in the section where there aren't any stores on the south side of the target.

The TL's 6MT is made in Japan. Does the terrible quake/wave damage mean there will be a slow down or interuption of the tranny and other parts that will cause a lack of the new '12 cars for the dealer lots. If so, I am thinking with 6MT already rare, this situation would make then even more so, and make my '10 resale value go up, at least for the next few months.

100% correct. Allocation for all honda/acura dealerships and pretty much every dealership has been drastically cut. For a car as rare as a 6MT TL even sans Japan crisis, its even worse finding one now post earthquake. Production wont be back to normal for the next 3-4 months.

Yeah, I ordered a 6MT Graphite in early April.. dealer can't even get a date from the factory. Largest volume, best rated dealer in the state, too...

Wow. Glad I got my 2011 Palladium Metallic/Ebony interior in February. 4988 miles so far, and I love it - don't miss my 2004 6MT at all.
