The Unofficial "Who has a Manual Transmission 4th Gen TL?" Thread!!!
I'm surprised nobody has done this yet, but I think we need to have a thread dedicated soley to the 6-speed TL. It will help us create a community within a community to celebrate the pinnacle of what Honda/Acura has to offer in terms of performance at this time in history.
So let your voices be heard! Let's see who has which color and unite together with our awesomeness!

Good thinking.
I jumped on my CBP/Ebony w/ 6MT not long after they came out. I love this car... I'll be keeping this one around for a very long time (at least 100k miles). A few mods over the next few years, and I'll continue to be a very happy guy.

Palladium. :-)
And despite the votes advising to the contrary, I am probably going to try out that pimpy black chrome grille.

My theory is that we're going to have a majority of the manual transmissions with either black or white exteriors, because I don't see too many palladiums on here and the mayan bronze's all seem to get drooled on, but are relatively few.
I honestly could've gone with any color but black (due to the fact I'm a clean freak on my car and couldn't stand to see swirls at every angle) but the only colors on the lot at that time were black and white and I fell in love with the taupe interior.
Don't forget to vote in the poll too! And tell those that you see on here with manuals to post up in here too!

Call me annoying, but I sent out a PM to all of our other members with 6spds too, I'm betting we'll notice a fairly large fan base on this forum with them!
You all should put some of your best pictures on here as well, I'd love to see the mayan bronze or palladium metallic ones up close.

Also, if we get a good fan base going, we could prove there is a need for certain manual transmission products like lightened flywheels, improved clutches, aftermarket spec gear ratios and maybe even some form of tuning software!

It's a really unique vehicle...really rather edgy and driver oriented in a way that most manufacturers are cowards to produce.
Which partly explains why they're not selling well, I'm sure.

TL-SHAWD 6MT Rocks!
Black all the way! it's more elegant!
I would have loved to have black outside and Umber leather inside, but dealer said they don't make it that way... (although it is a valid choice in www.acura.com ).

I think we all wish the color choices came with other options...
But I dont think all is lost if your exterior color isn't the interior color you want... I would reckon that there's a TL out there somewhere that has Umber interior that's been crashed that you could get door panels and seats from. Maybe not for a while, but it will eventually happen? Then we'll see color combo's that we've really wanted! Just not the grigio yet

Thank you to Prepreludesh for letting me know about this thread. Mine is Mayan Bronze with the umber interior: it's a color that both my wife (who will be the primary driver of this car) and I really liked. Regarding how we ended up buying this car: our 2006 RL was hit sideways by another car at an intersection, and, while the car was not totalled, I preferred to trade it in for a new TL. While reviewing the specs of the two models, I realized that the automatic's two top speeds are both surmultiplied, i.e. both ratios are taller than 1:1. I suspect this may have been done to enhance mileage in the highway cycle, but it effectively leaves you with only three usable gears in urban and suburban traffic. Combined with the auto's tendency to shift up as soon as the driver releases the gas, this makes for frequent kickdowns and some pauses to get into the right gear for pick up. The manual transmission, on the other hand, has five close, very usable ratios, and only 6th is surmultiplied. In test driving both versions, I also noticed that the manual's steering is more rapid and precise, and the suspension somewhat firmer with less body roll (at least this was my impression), which is much more to our liking. In sum, this car reminds me of the Subaru Impreza WRX (I owned one a few years ago) but in a more civilized and higher quality package and with much more usable low-end torque: very pleasant!

I feel the need...
Newest member of the 6MT Schnozzerati...
Just picked her up today on the way home. Negotiated everything over teh interweb -- super smooth transaction. Like many members, my original impression of the plenum was not favorable -- but time passed and it has grown on me -- the powertrain and interior makes one forget the "advanced" styling in short order.
My first choice originally was Palladium, but they only had one w/ almost 200 miles on the odo already, so my default choice was CBP.
Actually would have loved Grigio/Umber, but that choice isn't available in 6MT.
My trusty TSX will make a great car for her next lucky owner. Man it feels great to row the gears again, its been too long since my 'lude!

I encourage everyone to put up their pictures of their 6-speeds if they've upgraded them in any way. Or even just beauty shots of them!
Sorry George, I stole your pictures to put them on here because you've made some upgrades, haha.

Picked up my CBP 6MT yesterday. All I can say is WOW. Feels like it's carved out of a piece of billet, corners on rails and that sound system!
Drove a couple of family members around yesterday - they were blown away by the car.
All this in only 39 miles.
I'm really, really going to like this car.

Here are a couple of mine from a recent photoshoot. Going to start a thread in the photo section with the rest of them.
And yes - I know it needs to be dropped... already in the works :P
