Traded in the TL

It was a great all around car. I had a 2012 TL SH-AWD Black on Black six speed manual. Handled great, decently fast, great on gas...Until I found a 2012 CTS-V with just 10k miles. Worked out a reasonable deal on a 2012. Its a an automatic but holy cow does she scream! So I was the guy trading in an AWD car during the snowstorm yesterday and driving home a 556HP RWD car in its place...I did mount Blizzaks as to not die..

Just wanted to say Hi officially - been lurking for some time.

Will have TL 18" Axis Wheels w/ new Conti summer tires set and WeatherTec mat set to sell once post count gets up.

You post an intro thread after you trade in your car?

Congrats on the V, I hear they're a blast.

congrats on the 'V' ... had a chance to track one at Monticello back when the CTS Coupes were introduced some (nearly) 3 years back ... and if I didn't have the vette at the time, I could have been very tempted.

I didnt think it was horrible; they gave me $29k for it. I think that was right around KBB trade in value. I got the V for a smidge under $50k with Recaros and the big sunroof, CPO with more waranty and just 10k miles. The only thing its missing is the stick but its not a bad automatic. I want to get rid of the chrome wheels on it and get the grey version but they are super expensive. The gas mileage is HD truck bad.

Here is a link to a craigslist ad showing my old TL and the wheels:

Congrats on the V you will love it...

I have a 2013 V coupe and cannot get enough of it... I had a 6MT Grand Sport Vette which I loved, great car. But IMO the V is more fun to drive, even though it's an auto and the Vette was a 6-speed....

The power is so addicting I find it almost impossible to make my right foot behave..

Yeah its a fun car - I love how tame it can be but how easily the slightest bit of throttle changes the car. Unfortunately, living in CT I have not been able to really drive the car yet. Any attempts at full throttle have me spinning at this point. Ironic (and yes a bit foolish on my part for timing) that its been snowy or icy since I picked it up. No good pics yet. I hate dealers that dont know how to detail cars - its going to take me two days to fix their "prep" job. I hear pretty decent things about the cars reliability- I can so far say the recaro seats and bose sound beat the TL; while recognizing its not an apples to apples comparison by any means. The rear camera is cheesy on the V and the nav is just okay compared to the TL IMO.

And I will post the wheel/tire set from my TL in the classifieds when I have the count but if anyone wants to inquire: Dbrini824@gmail.com. You can see them here for now: http://hartford.craigslist.org/pts/4237770395.html

Yes really, as I said IMO the V-Coupe is more fun than the Vette. And yes even with four seats like that even matters.

I wasn’t knocking the Vette, I’ve owned two and they were great. I even considered trading the GS for a Z06 but had some concerns with the LS7. I looked at the Callaway SC606 at Criswell in MD but wasn't 100% sold on it.

Was leaning towards the Z then I drove the V and I was hooked with the overall package.. To each his own..

Glad you’re happy with the Z06 it’s a great car.

Congrats, and I have to admit, V series is a trade up. Hopefully as reliable as TL as well.

Enjoy! You did put Blizzaks on all 4 corners, I hope
