Trade-in 2006 3G TL for 2010 4G TL
Okay so the wife went in for an inspection and break job, I also had to bring mine in for a brake job. Next thing I know she's making plans to to test drive this 2010 Black TL. Beautiful car, sport and tech package! After that we are sitting down and signing paper work! She picks it up on Monday, they kept her car and put her in a loaner car for the weekend!
I love the new TL but I still love the 3G TL so much more. Not giving up mine yet, I'd only trade it in for a Type S. But the wife gets what the wife wants!

screw that a wife doesnt always get what shes wants yea maybe for most things but when it comes to cars thats a differnt story i personally dont like the new TLs and i for sure wouldnt let my wife trade hers in for that without going threw me but thats my 2 cents, shopping is one thing but car buying is another!

Marriage is a process of letting women get what they want. The more they get the happier they are. Even if it means that we live above our means and trade in cars that work flawlessly. After all its all about spending money we do not have; for things we do not need; to impress people we do not care about and those people do not care back anyways.
My 99 cents...
Damn I just found out the problem with our economy.

After driving a 4G loaner it's starting to grow on me. I still vastly prefer the 3G for exterior and interior styling but I loved the extra room and tech of the 4G. In another six years or so I could see trading up to a 2012 SH-AWD 6MT.

A happy wife equals a happy life! If mama ain't happy nobody is happy! In any event, I think the 4g will grow on you and pretty soon you'll forget all about the 3g. Enjoy!

I agree, I was there. But Im not driving her car. If she like it and wants to trade her 2006 for a 2010 so be man. Personally like i said, Im sticking with my 2005 TL! I have to say though, The car is growing on me, they gave us a WDP loaner 2010. The car is beautiful!! The sport and tech package far exceeds those of our 3G TL's!
Congrats to your wife! And you're right - you don't have to drive it, so as long as she's happy and you can reasonably afford the purchase, who does it really hurt??
I hope she enjoys the car!

Congratulations to your wife on a great choice. I also traded a 2006 for a 2010 TL Tech last year and couldn't be happier. Much improved car on most counts and I've had many more compliments on it from strangers than I ever did on the 06 which really surprised me.

Thanks for those welcoming me to the 4G family, however I still consider it the dark side as I love my 3G. But yo the Tech and Sports package on these things is unreal. Haven't had a chance to play with it yet maybe this weekend I'll take it out for a run!

There should be no difference between the 2006 and 2005 in HP. They have the same engines. The horsepower difference you'll see quoted (258 vs. 270) is due to revisions in SAE calculation of horsepower. They both output the same "real" hp.
