Suspension noise?

i am currently changing out my upper control arms and noticed this making noise. Should there be this much play?

It worked for me.

If the boot is not torn and you don't have play or noise when moving the hub right and left (other than the normal rotational movement between the ball joint and steering knuckle), then I'd probably leave it alone.

I replaced my outer tie rods a few months ago. The new ones were definitely "tigheter" than that but I think the most important thing is that they don't have play on the horizontal plane. Rocking back and forth like that is probably less critical. I'm not a suspension expert however. If you're up for changing them, they're relatively cheap on RockAuto.
