I test drove a 2009 base model last night. Non-tech, OEM tires/wheels. Although the car was quiet going down the road, I though it seemed louder than my 2004 TL. Has anyone else noticed a lot of tire-roar noise? Maybe I am incorrectly remembering how quiet my 04 was.

I still have my '04 and it is pretty loud and that's with new Conti Extremes. But I'm comparing it to my '12 TL that I got yesterday, so maybe I'm spoiled now! There really is no comparison in road noise.

the 09-11 models have poor bump absorption and less sound deadening, 2012+ have less noise due to better sound deadening

i have driven the 2009 sh-awd model once and its noisier than my 03 TL

I think the 2012 FWD model has about the same overall noise levels as my 2007, which is to say it's pretty quiet.

My '08 was noiser than my '12.. but I think it is subjective.. unless you carry a microphone and or SPL meter, it's hard to say which is noiser
