Rear Tray Assembly Cross-Reference

Does anyone know which Honda model/year shares the same rear tray assembly as the 2009-2014 Acura TL? I'm about to order the rear tray for my 2011 TL and stumbled across a Honda tray with the exact same part number. The Honda part is $35 cheaper so I obviously would want the Honda tray if it's exactly the same. The online parts store I'm talking with is of no help (understandably).

..BTW, I haven't been able to find a drawing for the Honda part, only the Acura part, so I don't feel comfortable ordering it at this point.

What is the Acura part number you're talking about?

I'm assuming you are referring to the trunk cargo mat.

Part#: 08U45-TK4-200

Keep in mind the one designed for our vehicle says TL on it. So if it matches like a Honda Accord, it's gonna say Accord on it. When I search the part number I don't see any of them referring to any Honda model. Only 2009-2014 Acura TL.

Sorry (brain fart). I'm talking about the rear tray assembly that secures to the rear deck. Part number is 84500-TK4-A01ZB. Searching for this part on sites that sell both Acura and Honda parts results in two parts (one for Honda and one for Acura) with the same part number, yet the Honda part is about $35 cheaper. I'm trying to determine whether the Honda part is actually the same part and will fit my 2011 TL.

I decided to play it safe and go with part listed for the Acura, even though the part number is exactly the same. $35 more for peace of mind.

That's the part I was assuming you were talking about...however, that part number is specific to Acura dealers only. I tried entering it into our Interactive Network over here at Honda to check availability and it doesn't match any Honda dealer code soooo....

I went ahead and ordered from an Acura dealer. I tried to get the Honda price but all they offered me was a measly 10% off shipping ($3). I found a better deal elsewhere. Dynaliner showed up today and the new tray will be here tomorrow so I'll be tackling it this weekend and hopefully get rid of the irritating rattling.

Do you mean one of the top Google results where it sends you to a Discount Honda Dealer?

I think some of the online sites have incorrect cross-referenced numbers with different prices on them. I'd be genuinely surprised if our rear deck was shared with another Honda model.

I've had the same issue with some miscellaneous interior pieces. "Honda" lists them at $30, Acura has them at $40.

I've tried just adding them to my cart and checking out (Majestic) but get an order cancellation due to the part not being Honda.

Not sure what you're expecting pictures of? Go outside, sit in the back seat of your Acura and look at the large plastic decklid with speaker grills on it. That's what he bought

Exactly what happened to me. I contacted the supplier about the part number being identical and they said they cannot order the part from Honda and that they had to order it from Acura, yet they have a Honda and Acura button on their website (hmm). I got an email moments later saying my order had been cancelled. I reluctantly ordered the Acura one for $35 more. It showed up four days later in a Honda box. Whatever.

.

Well, the new one is black and the old one is parchment, so it will look different. I'm assuming that is what he meant.

Well I never actually seen one installed other than the pic that ucf_bronco provided. (see below)

No, that is not what I'm referring to. I'm replacing the rear deck lid/tray under the rear windshield (with the speaker grills). I'm removing it to dynamat and remove the stock subwoofer and decided to go with black instead. Why? Because I'm weird like that. It will match the front dash color scheme and won't cause glare in the rear glass like the taupe one does.

BTW, I whacked the C pillars pretty hard with a rubber mallet as instructed in the service manual but the connectors wouldn't let go. I ended up using a flat bladed screw driver and pried at the connectors until they broke free.
