No A/C / Ventilated Seats...thoughts?
So I'm rather bummed that I don't see any mention of AC/Cooled/Ventilated seats...
any thoughts as to why?
I do see the push button start which is nice, I think the interior is gorgeous, I'm bent on the center navi knob
but the orange colored leather with that interior looks VERY sharp....I just wished they had a red leather

I'm sure there are things left off that will be added during the course of the model's lifespan. Nothing new here and every manufacturer does it.

Tl is always aimed at 3 series , C class , IS.
I think all these cars has no ventilated seat. (not sure though , please don't quote me on this)
I guess they reserve these features for higher end model, like RL 5 series?

I dunno, I think AC seats are kind of a gimmick. I rarely to never wear shorts so I don't I would notice a significant difference. My friend has an IS 350. The AC seat took time to cool up and by that time the car's AC was already pretty cool. I wouldn't opt for it if it were an option but it would be nice if I had the choice.

Do we know for sure the TL won't have them? I know they're not mentioned specifically in reviews, but there probably at lots of features that aren't.

The RL with vented seats has 6 LEDs to show the level of heating or cooling. The TL does not appear to have the feature. It would be very un-Honda like to use different seat switches if the switches were doing the same function.

Most people compare on either size or price. If you try to factor both in, there are few cars that directly compare with the TL

I think this is a **BIG** miss on Acura's part. For them to claim to be so technology advanced and they miss this very important feature for a car in this class/price range.
The Lexus ES has this feature (and it came out before the TL)...even the 09 Maxima has this.
Very disappointing.....

I like features and all but, come on, are we men here, do we need to complain about not having AC in the seats? I never thought I would see the day when the cold air coming out of the vents was not enough.

they spent the money they would on AC seats to produce the grill. that thing must weigh a sheez load
but really, i can live without ac seats if acura shows that they have something else but similarly cool in its place

First of all, few cars have "A/C" seats. That would imply having a compressor to pull the moisture from that area of the vehicle. Most cars have vented seats, which are simply a series of fans that are used to push air around and keep it circulating.
So this begs the question, how many of you bitching about the TL not having the vented seats have actually tried this feature on other cars?
I have and I can honestly say it is little more than a gimmick. It makes basically no difference in the actual comfort of the seat, even on the hottest of days. Not worth a couple hundred dollars more added to the price of a car.

While we're talking features, I would take the auto folding passenger side mirror that Mercedes have (at least the CL that I drove) for tight parking garage spaces. That would be much more beneficial than air conditioned seats. Instead of the AWD I would take the active suspension (like the ABC on Mercedes), again, much more beneficial and prices should be similar.

But, having a woman that is always cold is a pain in the ass. And, dual-climate control doesn't help when she has hers on 78 and I have mine on "cold". The interior just gets cold, and she complains. I end up having to turn my climate control temp to 72-ish. Ventilated seats would definitely help this...it's not a deal breaker, but just something to seal the deal!
And, a car in the upper $30's to lower $40's should have this feature..esp since the Maxima has it. Honestly, the Max is looking sweeter and sweeter (both from a price perspective and visual perspective)! When the direct competition has it, that's not good.
Also, I totally agree with the 6AT or 7AT option!

Same here....ventilated seats are a great option. That and auto-folding side mirrors.

When it's the other way around I wouldn't dare tell her to turn the seat heater on, I just take it like a man and suffer to avoid more suffering later on.
BTW, I'm sorry I had to bring the opposite sex into this!
