New Owner of a 2010 TL SH-AWD 6Spd

Good Day all, after much deliberation, we decided to purchase a black 2010 TL 6spd in CBP with ebony interior. Due to it having 140K miles we have to do some things to get it up to standard such as change out the timing belt/water pump, replace a cracked front motor mount, replace the oil pump seals and oil pan gasket, get an alignment, get a tune-up, replace the side mirrors (just the blue glass), tint the windows, and put some sound deadening inside the rear deck. We originally had a 2018 Accord 2.0L and were going to wait to see what the 2020 TLX was going to look like but didn't want another car payment and wasn't optimistic that Acura was going to release the next TLX-type S with a manual or with increased rear passenger room. Regardless, we love the body styling and the interior despite it being an almost 10 year old design and are looking forward to many miles with her. Will hope to have pictures soon when the work is done.

Nice pickup! I have to ask, why did you go from a 2018 Accord to a 2010 TL?

Too many build quality issues (super annoying HUD squeak in the summer, then wind noise whistle in the winter).
The Accord 2.0L turbo lag made me miss having the immediate response of the NA engine and I was still only getting 21 mpg combined.
Wanted the superior performance of the SH-AWD in combination with greater acceleration and manual transmission.
We were able to pay cash and not have to deal with a monthly car payment.
Wanted a unicorn.

IMO this still was the best driving and most comfortable Accord ever, but my driving style has changed and the opportunity of saving lots of money while having a premium performance sedan with a stick in the colour I wanted was too good to pass up.

Well, I like older cars anyways, but I do love the new Accord. I have a 2011 Kia Ootima and a 2007 Acura RDX turbo, love the RDX and cannot believe I sold my TL for an Optima! It's a great car but handling and fuel economy really isn't what I was looking for. 20mpg combined, in a 2.4 Optima, no thanks, going back to TL or maybe a TSX (2006-2008)!

Glad to see an another new car traded for one older!
