Morimoto XB type S

Hey everyone,

Quick question, hopefully someone knows.

Did morimoto change up their xb type s fog light design?

I just recieved mine, they're the type s LF10 and they look different to the ones I've seen people install on their TLs.

Even on the website, the picture is now different compared when I ordered them.

They updated their design recently I believe. If.it mounts up fine, then let it be! I think they blacked out the inside

Yeah, I'm just worried about the light output, the projector isn't nearly as widespread or large as the original design, they also moved away from Philips LEDs to nichia (I think that's how you spell it.)

Not sure how that would affect them either

How is the light output? I am thinking to buy them, but right now i have https://www.amazon.com/LEDONLY-Adjus...led+9005+10400 in my mdx and they are phenomenal.

Much better than Xenon in stock fog enclosure... much wider projection. Soooo, not sure which route to go.

Not sure how the output is, hopefully it's as good as the first generation.

Won't get to try them until spring though when it warms up a bit.

Anyone else have these specific models?

Definitely changed up the design. Maybe it's for the better.

Install doesbt take long. I'd install them now lol. Only gonna improve your ground visibility.

UPDATE:

I just spoke with TRS regarding the updated LED fog lights last week and was told the older version had more width output vs. the current version having a sharper cutoff. I think I will stick to my older ones as I prefer the wider width.

^ thanks for the update!

I guess we can't get the older version if we want to right? But I would like to see how the newer versions cutoff looks like before I order mine.

OP get them install soon =)

Ahh was afraid of that (width output being less)

It's bitter cold out, if my buddies shop frees up anytime soon I'll take it over and I'll install them myself, output shots to come!

Finally got a chance to install these, for anyone with the v2's, how the hell do you adjust them without ripping off part of the wheel well? The adjustment screw faces straight out instead of down lol

They definitely change the design on the adjustments. The old v1 use to be able to slide a screwdriver up and adjust like the oem ones.
