LED Headlights or White Bulbs?

Do you think it's a better route to go with aftermarket LED headlights or just put in white bulbs to get rid of those yellow stockers?

Has anybody done this? If so, please post pictures or links. Also it would be helpful to know what is the stock bulb size and what can it be replaced with (white bulb)

Thank you!

When you say ‘headlights’ do you mean low beams or the DRL/high beam lights? I have VLED 6k DRL/high beams on my car. Some people have gone for the 5k’s too, so that they’re a closer match to the stock low beam HIDs.

Yes DRL/Highbeams.

Are the low beams already white? Sorry, im new to Acura. Just bought my 2010 TL 2 days ago.

So the VLED 6K, where did you get it from?

They’re on VLEDS.com. You just choose your car and it will show you what bulbs match. VLED tends to be a bit expensive but higher quality then most other LED suppliers. Stock low beams are 4300k, which is slightly yellow. The projector lens changes how they look a bit though.

Personally I have OSRAM CBI HIDs, VLED 6k switchbacks (Triton v6s)/DRLs and Hoen Endurance 3k fogs in the front. I’d go with a 5k or 6k setup all the way around if I were you. 5k = slightly yellow & 6k = slightly blue

Highs are easy if you have small hands lol. They took me around 15-20 mins. Lows will require you to take out some screws and clips on both sides. There’s a DIY guide on here somewhere on how to change out the HIDs.

If you have large hands take the time to note the orientation of the bulbs tabs when you pull them out. (High beams). One side is the fluid over flow and other side is the battery.

D2S -Low beam (I had to take off the bumper to get at the passenger D2S - that one just sucked with large hands and arms.
9005 (HB3) - High Beam
H11 - Fogs
I have come across some fake bulbs on Amazon.
CARID or https://www.theretrofitsource.com/ if I am looking for something for sure.
One I am going to test out is http://store.ijdmtoy.com/9005-CREE-H...l.htm?CartID=1 with R2 decoder.

Ive gone down both roads. If you go LED, heres a list of if you want to replace EVERY build in ur car to be LED.
They are the BEST on the market, with BUILT IN decoders so no flicker, etc. No having to drill extra pieces or decoders or anything. PLUG and play. for real.
https://www.carid.com/cart.php?utm_source=email&utm_medium=lead

Halogen bulbs that is the closest to white youll get. It functions just as your Stock bulbs do, just at about 5000k which is a overall whiter light and the highbeams get brighter...
Its not as white as LED but its not yellow thats for sure.

My bad, here it is again
https://carid.com/cart.php?rst_cart=...tm_medium=lead
Now remember This brand is PREMIUM. You dont need to buy ANYTHING additional. The bulbs have BUILT IN decoders which prevent flickering and error codes.

The challenge you will find is that there is not an LED bulb at this time that will give you low voltage for DRL and high voltage for HIGH BEAMS for our cars. Its one or the other.

I have Diode Dynamics in my Explorer and Accord. Installed in 2015 and have no issues.

I tried to tell my friend to buy them for his car. He wanted to buy some cheap Ebay ones, he texted me yesterday telling my they already blew. He only had them for 3 days.

I used Putco bulbs LED with ribbon heat sinks. No moving parts so it should last forever. LEDs are the way to go.

That's what I did. The 6000K bulbs from JDMToy only lasted a couple years (one of them, at least). After chatting with a guy that sells all sorts of bulbs (same guy I bought the Morimoto fogs for the wife's pilot...wish they made 'em for '09 TL's) I went back to the OEM 4300K, and them replaced the highs with high quality halogens. They don't match perfectly, but are pretty close (more than close enough, in my view. And going back to the Philips HID's was definitely the right decision for me.

The true white shows when you turn on high beams. Its the best you can get without going LED in my opinion.

A few reason:
• No LED DRL will behave the way Our stock halogen bulbds DO, I mean If they work as DRL they will not get brighter as High beams when Switched on.
• IF you get the ones that work Ultra BRight as HIgh Beams, They wont work as DRLs
• The fact that you have to Drill holes in the engine bay area to mount a error code thingy cause it gets so hot it cant dangle.
IVe looked ALL Over for An LED thats Bright White as A DRL (ON OUR SPECIFIC CAR) and will get BRighter as we turn on high beams.

So, there ya have it. I went with LD On all the others Because the brand is Trust, SUPER quality and they were affordable. ANd they had the decoder Built into the bulb. No extra pieces.

I have pictures of them in 'drl mode' but I'd have to snap one with them working as high beams tomorrow.

The technology exists question is how reliable they will be. The ones I had have 3 chips in them. 1 chip lit up in drl mode and all 3 lit up for high beam. Granted they stopped working after 2 months but I got my money back and am tempted give them another shot since they were so awesome.

high beam

I bought through amazon these ones here

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B071KFF96J?tag=vglnk-ca-c570-20&th=1 https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B071KFF96J?tag=vglnk-ca-c570-20&th=1

Also needed these resisters

https://www.amazon.ca/LED-EAGLE-Canceller-Capacitor-2009-2018/dp/B072QCBQSM/ref=pd_sbs_263_7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=KQGSX8SJKFGVZAJBJC4X https://www.amazon.ca/LED-EAGLE-Canceller-Capacitor-2009-2018/dp/B072QCBQSM/ref=pd_sbs_263_7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=KQGSX8SJKFGVZAJBJC4X

No need to drill, what I usually do is tuck the resisters away somewhere they wont move or sometimes ill hold them in place with two sided tape. I think you can get ones with built in resisters also.
But again they did stop working on me after two months and the seller was a twat, I had to contact amazon directly to get a refund. I would recommend not buying from 'LED EAGLE' and instead trying a comparable product from another brand. That's what I'm going to do when I have time to surf around amazon again.
