Imobilizer System Nightmare!

Please help. I have a 2009 Acura TL, (with key Fob, push button start). Best car I have ever owned, until 3 mos. ago. One day the "Green Key" light began to flash, and car would crank, but not turn over, or stay running, with either Key Fob. Unfortunately there's no Acura dealer within 100 miles. So, we had it towed to a large Honda dealership. $4,000. later, (Yes, 4 with 3 zeros)... Long story short... their Service Dept. had it for over 3 months and replaced every electronic component attached to the security system and keyless system; PCU, ECU, MCU, fuse panel, wire harnesses, Key Fobs, Key Fob slot unit (in dash), push button start button assembly, etc, etc... I
n finality and frustration, they told me they still couldn't get it to work. (Side note: Throughout the long process, they mentioned having issues reprograming the new components, and that their Honda diagnostic equipment was not compatible with Acura models, and that they had 'communticated' with an Acura tech in another State).
End Result: they could only get the car to start as normal, but couldn't get it to shut off, with the push button. To shut it off, they had to disconnect the battery. Unless... they removed the fuses for the Radio and Nav System; then for some reason, the Key Fob/push button start and shutoff would function normally!
My question is how this is possible? To me, it seems like incompetence, and/or, something was not programmed properly.
They've essentially given up and said there's nothing else they can do. I can't find anything like this issue online, for anywhere close to my year/generation of TL.

Has anyone had or resolved a similar immobilizer issue or found a fix?

Thank you!

Wow I just changed the Key Fob Slot on my 2013 Acura TL with Tech Package myself, 15 min job. Just hearing how they charged you all the money and still haven’t fixed the car is ridiculous. You definitely should get it checked somewhere else.

Wow. that is definitely incompetence! they needed tyo understand how the system works to fix the issue. If I spent that much money and the car was still not fixed, I would be mortified. Water under the bridge, but you should have taken it to a Acura dealer. Granted I am sure honda's have the same start button in their cars. If I were you, i would make a complaint with honda. There must be something they can do for you. This is just outrageous.

Exactly what I was thinking! Can’t believe a dealership would change out the entire dash components instead of first figuring out the cause of the problem. Sounds like a shady dealership.

Update; Filing a complaint with Honda and Taking the car to an Acura Dealership (even though 120 mi away). I'm still in the dark about a documented fix for the "Green Key" Immobilizer light, which is what started the whole ordeal. The only references I can find online for this issue are from 2003 and older. Does anyone have any links or info on this issue, or maybe an Acura bulletin?
